Hi all I am home from the hospital.  i got home late Thursday evening but I was just to tired to post anything.  I am alittle o the nervous side.  I don't know why but I figure it will get better day by day.  I havent' been in much pain EXCEPT for right after surgery the chest pain from gas.  OMG if that is what a heart attack fills like or whatever I don't want one.  It lasted mainly till the morphine took effect.  I was scared.  My doctor told me he could tell that I stayed on the liquid diet because of size of my liver.  Only pain i really have is soreness which is expected and gas pains which I am pass on with walking and gas x.  Went to bed last night a 8 and woke up at 5 that is a prett good nights sleep for me.  Everything is alittle confused on me don't know whether I am hot or cold. Bit I am not running a fever.  Just glad to be home and get organized.  Ready to start day three.  Hope my nerves let up soon.  Just going to take it on day at a time.  Any suggestions on anything is always appreciated.  I know to sip sip sip and walk walk walk.  Have a happy friday god bless all of you Lisa

I am so glad to see that you are home! I was just wondering about you too!!!  Glad to hear that the only problem you are having at the moment is the gas pains.  Hopefully that won't last very long at all. Just take it easy and do what your dr. says.  I don't know what else to say yet, since I am not on the other side yet, but I am sure that everyone else will agree.

God Bless!

You are sounding very positive and that is a good thing. Being cold is something that I feel much more often.  I guess losing more ten a few inches of fat will cause that.  I really have yet to turn the air conditioner on in the car even in 90 degree weather.  In the past i wished I had a way to pre-chill the truck so it would be cool before I left work.  I am excited for you and your new chance.  You are correct sip sip and walk walk. The sooner you can make the ha*****anges the better. My ribs felt sore for about 13 days and then started getting better.  We that went to ST. V's get a large belly band to wear and that helped with the soreness.  I am not sure if you have one? Well To God Be The Glory and we will keep you in our prayers.

So glad to hear you are home and doing well!  I've been praying for you and know you will do great.  Let me know when you are up to company and maybe I can visit.  I have some things for you but you may not need them by the time I finally get to "officially" meet you.  I seem to be one of the closest to you so if you need anything, please let me know.  I am in Evansville several times a week for work and other things (Wal-mart, SAMS and Target).  I'd be happy to do whatever you need to help with your recovery.  I'll email you my contact numbers. You take care Lisa and know we're pulling for your speedy recovery! Blessings, Jacqui

Thanks Jacqui that is so sweet of you.  Right now I am doing real good.  I didn't realize how much family and friend support I have.  I have so many kinds of protein powders from all of them in stead of flowers I will know what all of them taste like.  What a great idea instead of flowers buy a bari patient a jar of powdwer or vitamins that they use.  THanks for thinking of me.  Lisa

Lisa, Welcome home. I'm glad you felt well enough to be online...very good sign! If your symptoms of nervousness continues much longer, you may want to call your surgeon or your pcp. One of the scripts you're taking may need the dosage adjusted. If the hot/cold thing keeps up, mention that too. As you get further post-op, you'll feel the cold more and welcome the heat every chance you get. At 2 days post-op though, temperature-wise, you should still be pretty similar to how you were pre-op. When you feel hot, check your temp to ensure you aren't running a fever. Glad to see you have the mantra down..lol. Sherri
