Dr. Clark??

Has anyone on here had Dr. Clark at Community South??

I had Dr.  Clar but I had my surgery at St.  Francis in Beech Grove.  He is an awesome doctor.  i personnally don't think you could ask for a better doc.  If you have any questions or want to talk you can e-mail me at [email protected].  Have a great day Dawn

Thank you for replying so fast!! I have been all over this site and the chn.remedymd site looking for anyone that had Dr. Clark. I have met him one time, when we got to see the slide show. Next week I go for pre-op testing-on Monday- and on Wed. I go for my class and to talk to Dr. Nixon(psych) one last time before surgery. They said my surgery would be around first part of Oct. I have had to quit smoking and that has been such a struggle but Im sure it will be well worth it. I just hope I can maintain it throughout the process. I am amrried and have 5 children and my very first grandchild is due in Dec.!!!!

I too had Dr Clark - although I had surgery at St Francis Beech Grove through their program. He's got such an awesome bedside manner and his assistant Julie is just as wonderful as he is. Good Luck Jodi

How long do you have to have quit smoking beford your surgery??......Im having such a tough time with it

I didn't smoke prior to surgery so I didn't have to address that issue, sorry.

I had to quit for 2 mos prior.  Every doc is different.  I dont know about Dr.  Clark.  See if your PCP will prescribe you Chantix.  It is a pill sort of like wellbutrin that you start taking and then about 1 wk later you just quit but you keep taking the pill.  I had a script for it, but my insurance wouldnt cover it so I just quit cold turkey with the help of suckers & hard candy.  My thinking was that I wanted this surgery so bad that has kept me from smoking, because my doc does a nicotine test and if you have nicotine in your system you are just SOL on surgery until you can pass the nicotine test.   Good luck!

CHANTIX!!!  It works....I took it for a month...didn't need to for the whole 12 weeks...like jemtjenny...my doc takes a nicotine test also...have to be smoke free for 2 months prior to surgery or no go!
