What does this mean??

Hi Everyone! I went to St Vincent on Aug 27 for my initial consultaion with Dr. Cacucci and had my psycholigical evaluation with Dr. Stote the same day.  My PCP had already mailed in my medical file.  I will be having an RNY. I received a letter yesterday instructing me to schedule a meeting with Ted Eads and Linda Rodriquez and to also begin attending support groups.  I left a message for him to call me back. While I am eagerly waiting for him to call back, I was hoping that one of you could give me the "heads up" on what this call is. Thanks....Julie

I don't know Ted, but Linda is a NP that leads a lot of the support groups.  Often they require you to attend a certain number of support group meetings before you can get your surgery, so that would be my guess.  Just another step on the journey!  Kim

Maybe your insurance requires you to attend a support group.  I have Dr. Gupta and I do not have to attend any support group.  From experience though I had started the process before I went to St. V's and even though I was approved by my insurance from when my PCP had submitted the paperwork I still had to wait on Dr. Gupta's office to submit it.  That took about 2 weeks for them to get my chart from the bariatric center and get my info entered into their computer and get my info submitted to insurance.  I had a lot of trouble being patient, but they will not call you back if you keep calling them. Trust me! LOL!
