Thinking about visiting Lisa
I'm thinking about leaving work early today to go visit Lisa. I haven't had my surgery yet so I don't know if it's appropriate. On one hand, I'd like her to know we're all thinking about her and wishing her well. On the other hand, I want to respect her privacy..especially if she's having a hard time with it.
Pass on the wisdom Board! What should I do? If I do go, I'd like to take her something. Any suggestions? I can also print off any messages you'd like her to have.....if I go. Jacqui
Jacqui,
How sweet of you! Tell her we're all thinking about her and looking forward to her posting that she's home!
When you go, go to the nurse's station and tell them who you are to see..and that you'd like to know if she's up to company. Most new post-ops welcome visitors...especially from the board, pre or post op! Don't feel that you HAVE to bring something. It is the visitor that Lisa will remember. If you do stop & pick something up, some ideas are: a small bottle of lotion, chap stick, aqua drops (they are usually where the gum & candy is in the checkout..they are sugar/calorie free). While you're there, offer to walk a 'round' with her. It's always good to have company....it helps you be more motivated to do the laps! Please let us know how she's doing. Sherri
