I have Deb Vine at Clarian North as my dietician.  She's very nice, but a little spacey.  I went to the support group last night for the first time.  With all of the trips I'm making down there I can't go all of the time even though I'd like to.  I did like Ruthanne.  She seems very upbeat and even though she told us that she loves her job, you can tell it anyway.  She seems very knowledgeable. Is she the one that we see after the surgery?  Or will I have to go to the one that I'm seeing now?  I am looking forward to the nutrition class at Clarian Bariatric Center.  I do think that it will be very helpful.

Dr. Jones asked me if I'm aware that I don't have as much weight to lose as most patients.  Of course, I am aware of that.  I would have more to lose if I hadn't had the VBG 10 years ago.  I did not gain all of that weight back, but my BMI is still over 36 and I have several co-morbidities that I didn't have when I had the first surgery.  I am diabetic and have high cholesterol, blood pressure, triglycerides and degenerative disc disease.  I know that if I don't get this weight off then I am at very high risk of worse health hazards down the road. I just hope I can get in to see her sooner, but I don't know if that'll be possible.  I guess I'll call the office every so often and see if they have a cancellation.  Thanks again.

You will usually meet with whatever dietician is in on the day of your appointment.  I think I have met with them all.  Ruthanne usually does the nutrician class.  She will even give you her number to call her when you have questions or concerns.  They have all been very caring and considerate.  I can't imagine any better treatment anywhere.   As much as I complained about MPlan and the difficulties I had with them in the beginning, I am glad I was "hooked up" with Clarian.

I can eat as much as I want...I just don't want much.
I'm ashamed of what I did for a Klondike bar...
