Need to know where to start?
Lyndia,
Thank you for the corrections. I don't know why but I always think 'distal'. lol. It may have came out 20 yrs ago, but it's fairly new here in Indy. Dr. Inman is definately the one to go to but I remember when she was learning the procedure...about 3 yrs ago. In my book, that is fairly new for a medical procedure. Don't get me wrong, I would trust her without fail to do it.
DS as well as RNY and Lap-band are each intended for a select group of people with particular weight-loss needs. At 352 lbs and a love for breads, I would have done great with DS...but it wasn't available here until after I had my RNY (3 yrs ago). If a sweet tooth had been my big issue though, the RNY would had been best for me. As it turns out, I became hyproglycemic so either will give me BIG problems. For those who are right at 100 lb to lose, the lap-band would probably be their best option. For the super-obese, DS is the best option. For those in-between, it really depends on your food habits and how determined you are to succeed. The lap-band will do nothing for someone bound & determined to have a chocolate malt. With it, you can eat about anything you want as long as it's small enough to get through.
Thank you also for the VBG correction. I'm going to correct both in my profile (where I copied/pasted that post for newbies).
