1 week and still nothing

It has been 1 week since faxing the approval letter to Dr Gupta's office and I still havent gotten a call to schedule my date.  I am really starting to get ticked off.  I am trying to be as patient as I can, but I need some answers, I have a possible work trip coming up and I dont know what to do about that.  My husband is trying to schedule his vacation time to accomodate my surgery.  I called this morning and left a message with Heather (surgery scheduler) that I just wanted to check and see where I was on this and I was kind of wanting to get a ball park of a possible date because I have several other people I am trying to schedule this around and still havent heard anything.   Just had to vent since I cant smoke

I SO feel your pain and frustration!  As great as St. V's is and as much as I like Dr. Cacucci (my surgeon--is in same office as Dr. Gupta)--the amount of time that it takes that office to return calls is awful!  They are obviously short-staffed and over worked.  I was told a couple weeks ago that they won't return any calls asking about whether they received items.  I had my medical records sent and wanted to make sure they had been received, but the office told me that if I didn't hear otherwise then I should assume that the records were there--WTF???  That makes me nervous!!  I hope you hear something VERY soon!!  Good luck!

Yea all their messages say they will not return calls if it has to do with checking to see if they received anything.  If I dont hear something Monday I am calling the office manager.  If they dont know someone is sending something and they never receive it they are not going to call us anyway.  Do you know what I mean?  The more I think about it the angrier I get. 

Sounds like a plan to me!!  I know they are busy--but given how far out they are having to schedule people, they need to call people as soon as the patient is approved and get them scheduled!

How far out are they scheduling people? I figured the end of October, 1st of November. Do you know?

Lordy!  I feel so bad for y'all....Fran in Doc Huse's office is the best...she has called me back on the same day I called and left a message and I had my surgery date the day after my approval!  We have spoken on the phone daily since my surgery schedule. Something is definately screwball with that office of y'alls!

Sorry, I like Heather.. but then I have HAD my WLS and am not sitting on pins and needles waiting for a date. Think.. Remember all the people waiting to have their surgery...there is just so much time in a day.. When I saw Doctor Cacucci Yesterday she came into my room and treated me like I was her only patient for the entire visit. She focused entirely on ME, MY problem and MY treatment. They have these things set up for a reason.. I dont care which Dr they work for they WANT to get you in as soon as possible because that is THEIR income.. The DR WANTS the surgeries scheduled close because they dont want to wait and have holes in their schedules.. They want to do the surgeries but then they have to be in the office to take care of the after surgery people too.. ( Like me) The day of surgery will be the best day in the rest of your life...It's like labor pains... you will forget the awful wait... I did!! You have so much to look forward to I UNDERSTAND, I have been there!!! But it honestly isnt forever... Linda Kay

AS HARD AS IT IS JUST HANG IN THERE. THE GALS IN THE OFFICE ARE VERY BUSY. IT TOOK ME 2 WEEKS TO GET A DATE BUT AT THE SAME TIME I GOT THE DATE THEY ALSO GAVE ME THE TIME FOR MY NUT CLASS AND FOR MY PRE OPS. TRUST ME IT IS WELL WORTH THE WAIT. I KNOW FIRST HAND HOW HARD IT IS BUT CALLING THEM TO MUCH TAKES THIER TIME AWAY TO CALL YOU BACK WHEN THEY COULD BE WORKING ON YOUR DATE.  VICKI
