Good Morning Hoosier Losers, Vickie, I am so glad you are starting to do better.  Have been following your posts and sounds like you have had a miserable time of it.  Hopefully things are on the mend for you.  Things are going well for me overall.  The scale has been slow to move over the past month or so.  I have not been able to do as much walking as I would like due to a left painful foot.  Saw the ortho this last week and he is unsure what it really is.  I am headed out today for new shoes so maybe that will help. I have been having LOTS of wonderful comments but to be truthful I really don't see that big of difference in my appearance.  I know my body has to look different as I have gone from a size 26 pants to a size 16W and tops from size 30 to size 20 but I still see a big tummy, etc.  But regardless of how I look I feel SOOO much better and that is the important part to me.  As I said I am headed out to go shopping today.  Looking for new walking shoes as well as work shoes -- none of my shoes fit anymore.  I also am going to look for an undergarment support of some type(things are a little jiggly right now) and going to look for a pair of jeans.  Hope you all have a great day on this absolutely beautiful Indiana day.  God Bless, Peg

Good morning all! We just had a little visit from our neighbor accross the street. Mind you, we got the new rv on Thursday and we left on Saturday...so less than 48 hours. We've been back home since about 2 yesterday..so ~18 hours. In that 66 hours, she has determined that we are rude and inconsiderate because now she has to be careful pulling out of her driveway!?!?! Shouldn't she be careful anyway??? She had no problem with the Jayco...of course, it was a whopping 7' shorter. But she b*tched Bill out royally! I sat at my desk, steaming. I knew it would not be in ANYONE's best interest for me to come to the door! I am just so PO'ed about that! When we moved in here, Tiffany drove a little escort. That b*tch came and said how difficult HER car was making it for them to go out of their driveway THEN too!!! And what does Bill say??? 'Oh, let it go'!!! Like I am being so unreasonable!! Grrrr.... Ok...enough of that crap! I do hope everyone has a good day. I'm going for my Lasik check-up and then we have some running to do. Then, we're going to go get Louie and bring him home. Hope you all have a good day! Sherri ps..Vicki, I'm glad you're feeling better!

Sherri, I know what you mean about the neighbor! lol people can be so rude...especially when they live next to you :o) You might check with your city's ordinance and see what the distance from the road is for your vehicle. I know for travel trailers and RV's tey have to be parked so many feet from the street or you can be made to move them. So check it out and as long as you are within the city's rules...let her steam. Perhaps you can take her a nice bunch of fresh veggies and tell her she can put her steaming to good use and cook the veggies while she is soooo hot!!  lol  Good luch sweetie and have a super weekend! hugs! Morning All, Looks like a beautiful Saturday and for a change Im gonna enjoy it instead of laying around on bedrest. Got the word from the doc to be as active as I possibly can to encourage labor. I walked all day yesterday. Had contractions on and off..... went shopping. Today - more the same only Matt and Gage would like to go to Indy for shopping today so that's what we are doing. It's nice to know that my bed rest confinement is OVER!!!!! and I can encourage this lil one to vacate. I laughed and told my belly - "Eviction time baby!!!". If you have my cell give me a ring cuz I'll be in Indy probably most of the day unless I actually reach some real labor for a change. Everyone have a great Saturday! Jodi

Hi all! Happy Saturday! We're planning to go to Clinton, Indiana, for the Little Italy Festival today. Maybe drive by the new house too  . I am so excited to find out if we get it. I had a ball yesterday shopping. I went to Plato's Closet in Terre Haute. I got about 12 pieces of clothes for $85. What a deal! I am buying size 12 pants now. I have a couple of 12's I can fit into, and a couple that should fit soon. I never  thought I'd be wearing a size 12. That's just amazing to me.

Beautiful Day to You All! What a Glorious day this is going to be! I absolutely love this weather!! The cool nights and warm days are perfect!! I have aired the house out all night and the fresh air smell is so awesome! I went back to work this week so I am still adjusting to being "normal" again...lol I will say my plastic surgery did take more out of me than my RNY surgery but ...it is soooo worth it! My plans for today and this weekend are to make some order of my bedroom and house!! We live in a really small house and I have so many clothes and stuff there is just no room at all! Since surgery I have found that my style in tops has changed some so I really need to weed thru my closets and take out those that aren't  first choice for my new figure. I still can't get used to my hips and tummy being so flat and small! I can wear my jeans/slacks with short tops or even tucked in and look great! It is soooo cool!! Well I am off here to get motivated and see what type of order I can achieve!  You all have a fabulous weekend and holiday! Hugs! Marianne

Saturday...  Well we got the kiddos this weekend. We all needed some cheering up with this past week being so stressful with the funeral and all that. My mom is taking care of them but I get to play with them without the diaper changing and all! Fun eh I am still having pain when I take a deep breath, I hope this gets better soon. They did a chest/belly CT at the ER on Wednesday and also diagnosed me with Atelectasis (which is a small lung collapse basically except it was just explained to me that my lung had shrunk) the ER doc said that this was caused by me being sooo dehydrated the fluid around my lung was soo low it doesn't do something properly (i don't remember lol i was on morphine). This is the cause of my lower o2 sats (they been hovering in the low 90s-95 only went over 95 once the whole time in the hospital) lately as well. I guess this is something that can happen after any surgery especially abdominal surgery which is why they stress using the Incentive Spirometer (so listen up PREOPS use your IS). I have used it still a couple times a day (was told I didnt have to use it after 2 weeks). This is apparently whats been causing all my pain in my chest when I take a deep breath.

Its gonna be a nice boring and relaxing saturday for me, just trying to get rid of this cold before heather gets me rescheduled so I dont have wait even longer.  Sounds like most of you are gonna have some fun so thats great.  Misty, me being a Resiratory Therapist, I would suggest that you do your IS more then just a couple of times a day, if they are saying that you have atelectasis, it is like a partial lung collapse, with the fluid being low around your lungs, those little sacs in there dont like to expand so they shrink and dont want to open like they should, but because you had surgery you do not breathe as deep as you need to cuz it hurts which is why they say to use the IS after surgery, because it makes you use the area of your lungs that aren't expanding they way they should. So even though it hurts to take those deep breaths you really really really need too.  And your O2 sats being at 95 isnt really bad as long as they are over 92 we like it  you would never hear me complain if I got 95 when I checked ya lol. Well anyways hope everybody has a great great day.

I have been using the IS more. The thing is they didn't even mention me using it in the hospital this past time. The ER doc just told me it was because I was dehydrated. I am 4.5 weeks out soooo I had cut back using it. My score is like 1000 now soo it's down a bit :| I've been wondering why it seems I'm using my inhaler and the nebulizer a lot more but apparently its not soo much the asthma.
