making a shopping list of what i need after surgery
Hi all I just would like a few opinons on what brands and products that you think are must have for my after surgery shopping list.
Favorites...
protein powder protein drink protein bar sugar free popcicle sugar free jello ready made or make it your=self sugar free pudding yogurt vitamins pain relief medication etc... Would love to hear all suggestions Also I just tried caramel optisource high protein drink and thought it tasted awful please help just trying to get ready for the big day. 8 more days to get my new tool in working order LOL Lisa
I needed lowfat cottage cheese, sugar free applesauce, powdered milk, sugar free instant breakfast, 2% milk. I loved the protein drink that my doctor used: 4 cups milk, 1 cup powdered milk, 1 pkg. sugar free instant breakfast. Mix all together and slowly sip all day. . . drink whole quantity for needed protein for the day.
Best of luck. Hope you have as few problems as I have had!!! (none)

I wouldn't buy to much of any one thing. Your taste may change. I didn't do well on the protein shake so I got some bottles of Isopure ate GNC. It comes in fruit flavors and has (I think) 60 grm of protein / bottle. I had to drink it over ice but it wasn't to bad. sugar free popcicle for sure. How about no sugar added apple sauce and instant mashed potatoes.
I bought the low cal yogurt that had the plastic lids on to reseal. One cup will make many meals.
You won't eat protein bars for a while. I liked to buy my SF jello and puddings just becsue it got me in and out of the kitchen quicer. I buy the EQUATE childrens chewables with iron at Walmart. They are cheaper than the Flintstones but more important they taste better. I have found that for some reason the ones in the big economy bottle aren't as good as the ones in the samller bottles. Maybe made in a different location. You should also get some chewable calcium. Citrical has some good chews I think you can also get it in liquid. You need B1 and B12 sublinguals. Don't forget the biotin. Import to help prevent hair loss. Good luck
It is so ironic that you posted this--I was lying in bed last night thinking that I really should start buying stuff for the surgery so that my wallet isn't hit as hard. In addition to food items--what things or extra supplis would people recommend having on hand for the few weeks after surgery to make life easier at home?? I know extra cat litter, extra toilet paper, extra deodorant, etc.--anyone have other advice??
