Optifast....or others?
Before everyone had their surgery, did your dr. have you start the "Optifast" diet, or something equivilant? My friend had LB just over 2 months ago, and she had to do the Optifast Liquid diet first for 2 weeks. I don't know all the options, so if anyone else had to do something like this, please share that information! I am wanting to know ALL of the choices there are!!!
Thanks!

I didn't know if it was just her doctor, or a regular requirement for ALL drs. I will find out if mine does on Tuesday, but I will manage either way, if he does or not. I know it was something to do with shrinking her liver before surgery, and that was the one that her group always used. Are there other types of liquid diets that are out there, other than slim-fast? Just wondered!

Hi Lachelle
Here is what I had to choose from. Chocolate, Vanilla, and Strawberry Shakes. Chicken and Tomato Soup. Then there is a chocolate and Peanut Butter Bar. We get to have 7 a day. But only one of them can be a bar up to 3 soups and the rest to make 7 the shakes. It is hard at first, but it gets easier everyday. It is a mind thing. But I do think it will get me prepared for after surgery. Good Luck Lisa
