Good Morning to all my new Hoosier Losers freinds, Tomorrow is the big day for me to start my opti-fast for two weeks.  It is a requirement from my doctor before surgery.  I just went to grocery for my family and I am going to spend the day cooking meals for them for the next two weeks.  I think it will help if I stay out of the kitchen during the next two weeks.  I love to cook.  I will still make them breakfast and stuff.  I am so excited.  I am really going to have surgery.  My journey starts tomorrow.  I hope everyone has a great week.  Lisa

Hi Lisa, I just had surgery on Aug 13, and I had gone thru the two week liquid diet too. I am from Merrillville In. but my Dr. did the same thing. Some Dr. don't require this, but I think it leads to much less complications after surgery.  When I was going thru that two weeks, I am glad I had a lot of support from my family and at work. I felt like I was going crazy and became depressed and all kinds of nasty stuff, but because of the support I had and determination, I got thru it, and boy am I a happy camper now.  I don't have hunger issues and I can stick to the post op regimen without problems.  I guess I had them before surgery. I am lucky, my mohter-in-law is cooking for my family. I am a scrapbooker too! (peeked at your site) . Good luck and if you have any questions or need any suport let me know.  If you just want to vent, let it out.  It does help. Marsha
