Does anyone out there ever eat hummus? Is it safe? I am about 6 weeks post op and was just wondering if it's a good for you or stay away thing. I also was wondering about soy crisps? My doc recommended them and was wondering about best kind to get or best flavor? Thanks for your help!!!

IF you can find them, Quaker has a good soy crisp that is high in protein (high as in more than the other crisps have). Just remember that they aren't calorie free. GenSoy makes them as well, but I personally don't like the taste (or smell) of these. Sherri

I am not positive, but I imagine that hummus would be fine--it is just mashed up chickpeas and you can eat beans so I don't think there would be a problem.  Check with a nutrionist to be safe.

I eat hummus! Trader Joe's has tahini free hummus which is lower in fat. I have no problems at all. I like to eat them with olive oil, garlic and feta flavor soy crisps from Trader Joes.
