Ordinary or EXTRA ordinary

Ellen Here are a few successful tips from a CD by motivational writer and speaker, John Maxwell. He points out that the only difference between the words ordinary and extraordinary is the word EXTRA. Following are his eight points that apply to us as we are on our journey: EXTRA EFFORT: Do just a little more. The person on top of the mountain did not fall there; he or she climbed there. Achievers choose what others want and achieve what others don't. Are you giving that little bit extra that exemplifies doing your best? EXTRA TIME: Great motivator Peter Lowe says the most common trait he has found in successful people is that they have conquered the temptation to give up. If you start something for the right reasons, you will have the tenacity to give it a little more time. Great accomplishments take time. EXTRA HELP: You have each received help in your WLS journey -- pass it on. Don't be a reservoir; be a river. ExTRA REALISM: Face reality as it is. Past General Electric CEO Jack Welch says we have to face reality and then control our destiny. Have you? EXTRA CHANGE: Most people change enough to get away from their problems, but not enough to solve their problems. When you want something you have never had; you have to do something you have never done. Have you made the necessary changes to get what you want? EXTRA THINKING: Your mind will give you back exactly what you put into it. Your priorities are a pre-decision of time. What have you decided to make your priorities? EXTRA ATTITUDE: Throughout Olympic history, the average difference between the gold medalists' winning times and silver medalists' times has been one-tenth of one secon. That's not ability, that's attitude. Is your attitude right? EXTRA PLANNING: It's important to not run on the fast track, but on YOUR track. What's your plan? If ordinary people do these eight things, they will become extraordinary. LET'S BE EXTRAORDINARY!!! --------------------
