Does anyone have problems with gas and going to the bathroom as soon as they eat? Doesn't seem to matter what I eat, it gives me gas. Gas X and Beano do not help. Does this get better? I had the RNY on April 11. I have lost 55# so far. But it is getting old with the stinkies. LOL>

That is probably one of the most common complaints amongst post-ops! I'm almost 3 yrs out and haven't found a thing to help except a strong fan to help get it from my nose! You aren't alone in Stinkervile! Sherri

Sorry it just seems some people have a problem.  My daughter had the stinkies and moved from a house to escape the smell.  After a time it did get better for her. I have not had that problem.  Praise God.

Not that I want them, but if I do get them its pay back time for DH. Maybe I can give him a dose of his own medicine.

Alice.      I am 6 weeks and a few days out and that was a real issue with me at the onset, however I switched to Lactose free milk (Deans Free) and almost immediately it went away..both gas and rapid diahrrea after eating..it was quite a concern because I thought I was going to live like this the rest of my life..Of course certain food just have gas producing properties..Also do you have a gallbladder..often if you do or not (my is gone) there is a problem with any food with any fat content in it no matter how small that causes me to run to the bathroom. Hope this helps..Linda

Linda, I don't have a gallbladder anymore. Lost it a long time ago. I tried the Lactose free milk and can't stand the taste. Does the Deans Free taste more like real milk? I will try it. Gets embarrasing at times. Sometimes I can hold the stinkies back till I can get clear of people but then sometimes they just come out. Thanks for the info. Alice

The Deans lactose free milk has a bit of a sweet taste but is better than Soy milk..I use it for my protein shakes and mashed potatoes and oatmael..look in the milk section there may be sevral kinds someone said you can buy drop to put in real milk to prevent gas..I would be in a mess if I had that at work. I think you should talk with your doctor and see what he may suggest..shirley there should be something out there to help you..good luck..Linda
