Can anyone tell me approximately how long from the info session and the dr consult right after the info session did it take Dr Gupta's office or any of the doctors their in that ofc. to get your chart from the Bariatric Center to the doctors office and get your info entered into their system and the paperwork filed to the insurance company?  As of this past Friday they said they still havent gotten my chart from when I went for the info session and they didnt have me entered into their system yet.  Last Friday was a week & 1 day since my consult with Dr. Gupta.  Just curious, I dont want to keep bothering them, but it seems they should have had my info in their computer by now. I didn't wait that long I don't believe.  I immediately contacted my family Doc and had them send stuff over.   But you know, I was emailing them with questions the next day...I wouldn't worry about bothering them, that's what they're their for.  That's what we pay them for....

Jenny have you called the Bariatric center to find out why they havent forwarded your file to the Dr.??  I would start there.  i went to my info session and my consult with Dr. Huse on a tuesday and my info was faxed to the insurance company on thursday.   I had BCBS and i was approved the following Monday.   I would think its the Bariatric Center that is dragging their feet if they havent even sent your file to your Dr. yet.  Good Luck, Carla

Thanks! I will call the bariatric center today.   I know there was a lady at the bariatric center that I didnt care too much for. I was trying to ask her questions and she flat out told me she didnt have time right now, she had to get other patients in their rooms. So I pretty much left there with questions.  I dont even remember her name, but I would know her if I saw her. I am beginning to think I should have just settled with the lap band and stayed with my doctor in Muncie. But I switched because I really wanted to have the RNY and now I am having problems with the clinic  I am going to hang in there though and get the surgery I want. Jenny

Hi Jenny Wow you seem to be having many more problems then I had.  I guess I let the people at the center do their job and things went fairly quickly for me.  I had the surgery the DR. wanted me to have.  She is the expert and after doing thousands of procedure I just guess I felt she would make the best choice for me. What is the old saying " A little bit of sugar lets the medicine go down"  Try to let the experts make choices that will help you make a lifetime change. This surgery does NOT guarantee sucess.  You can gain weight and there are many examples of failures. I pray that the distractions you feel will be eased. Emil

I am glad you are having less pain.  I guess it just takes time.  I am sure the food thing is going to be an issue with me.  It going to be a BIG change.  We will learn how to overcome it though. I have called & emailed the insurance ladies at the Dr. ofc several times.  Somebody left in that dept. and they are trying to learn that job as well as their own, so I know they are probably overwhelmed but still 2 wks and my info is still not entered into their computer.  Maybe I just need to go over there and say give me my file and point me to a computer.  By the time I figure out where to go and how to enter everything it will still be quicker then waiting on them    As far as the doctor in Muncie, I dont know. I first went there the end of June and he was doing the RNY then.  I talked to them the end of July and they said he just announced he was no longer going to do the RNY.  I have heard some things possible about malpractice insurance, but that is just rumors, so I dont know.   Hope you have a good day!

From the time I saw my surgeon at the center it took them a week to send it to my surgeon and that was only after I called about it. Then it took my surgeon a week to send it in to my insurance company.  So sometimes they take a little while to get things moving. Try to call them to get the ball rolling. I hope it helps Robin
