Post Op Update

Sorry to take so long to post.  It took most of the morning just to catch up on what I've missed this week.  If I could just find Marianne's post op post and say "ditto" this would go much faster.  Dr. Bergman was wonderful.  I cannot recommend her highly enough.   I looked in the mirror this morning and cannot believe that is me.  The tummy tuck did so much more than I expected.  It lifted my thighs, took most of the wrinkles out of my butt and is so flat and tight...if I wasn't 48 I'd be tempted to try low rider pants.   The breast lift and augmentation is looking just as promising.  I am experiencing some swelling in the breast area.  It feels like when I was nursing my children and they slept past feeding time.  The frozen peas come in handy and relieve the swelling.  However, I am just taking Tylenol for pain.  Coughing unexpectedly kicks my butt.   I have missed y'all and wish I could be camping with you this weekend.  I'll be thinking of you while I'm sitting on the porch with a good book. Take care.

Girl! you are doing Great!! I am still doing the liquid loratab at bedtime and some days in the afternoon. Small doses but enough to relax and get my rest in. The peas are my favorite friends! I still use them and they keep the swelling down alot. In a couple of weeks your breast will drop and really amaze you in their beauty. I know what you mena on the thigh lift! I did not expect that and it is sooooo nice to see them lifted!!  My belly button is so cute and I keep lifting my shirt and showing it to everyone! lol I figure now....I won't be so concerned if my top rides up any with a great midriff to show off!  I am so thilled with my results! I am still kinda puny and doing not much of anything as Dr says so I think that helps the healing go alot faster. My daughter did take me out today and I made it thru Aldi's and Wal Mart to get stocked up again. I see Doc on the 15th for my 4 week check up...it has really gone fast! Keep up with the books! I am on my 7th novel! lol Hugs!! Marianne

Annette, I'm so glad you are doing well! I'm gathering up my novel supply! LOL! Hmmm...frozen peas. What size bags..and how many bags on hand would you recommend? Since I'm hypoglycemic, we haven't been doing peas at all so I need to stock up. After your consult, did you see Dr. Bergman again before the day of your surgery? Keep us posted! Sherri

I bought six 12 oz bags at 99 cents each at Kroger.  Frozen wholoe kernel corn works well too.  My thinking was I would have one bag for each breast and one for my tummy and could rotate them in and out of the freezer.  But three bags would have been plenty.  After having them on for 20 minutes or so, the swelling subsides (and you get cold) so you just put them back in the freezer for a few hours.   I didn't see Dr. Bergman again after the consult until the morning of surgery,  She came in and talked with me and we went over final plans as she was marking my skin.  (I had tattoo issues. She was able to eliminate them completely for me. )   Most of my last minute questions were taken care of by her office staff, Marianne, and the OH plastic surgery board. Dr. Bergman spoke with my husband at length while I was in recovery,  My implants ended up being larger than originally planned since she was removing more skin (tattoos) but I think in the end, I will have left the same size I started with, just perky.  She really listened when I said that was my goal.  She made the adjustment to keep me in proportion.  I see her this afternoon for my first follow-up appointment.  I'll let you know how that goes. Take care,

Annette
