Hi Buddies,      I'm alive!! Yesturday, Dr. Inman removed the undisolved stitches, knots and lots of scar tissue she found in my old incision area from my RUNY. After 3 mo. of infection drainage & pain, I am so glad to have it done. I went in at 12:30 & was released at 5pm. just in time for the traffic- blink.gif yikes! I don't know how you "city folks "do it sometimes- of course I was still alittle jumpy from the anestetics, cool.gif and decided to nap on the way home.I had planned to stop & check on Annette before my surgery, but we were running late- so much road construction from Lebanon on, that we just made it on time for my  surgery pre-opt. I hope all went well for her. I got alot of giggles from my pre- opt nurse who told Dana " you're to wait on her hand & foot for the next 24hrs.- cook your own meals, make sure she gets hers, etc. Oh, did I say 24 hrs? I meant 24 weeks- then take her SHOPPING!" OH, GOTTA LOVE A NURSE LIKE THIS!!!!  ~~~~~~~I just wish I'd had her for my discharge Nurse- now she was something else!!!She told me 3 TIMES- "DON'T CHANGE THIS BANDAGE FOR 48 HRS. ADD A EXTRA ON TOP IF IT BLEEDS THRU"--- THEN TORE IT OFF!!! " huh.gif angry.gif My husband was livid- I had blood going all over my legs/stomach etc. & out of the rosebud drain in that area. I've NEVER had a drain before- so what do I know about it, other than I was a mess! She couldn't get the bandage on right,( said she'd only been there 6 mo.  well, you should know how!!!! She use to work on 86th St.) and finally used paper tape (I am allergic to it & adhesive tape) & got the right kind from the surgery unit, and put it ontop. Geez, I was already in alot of pain and I felt like she wanted to get me out of there before the head nurse came back cause she said " hurry up & get dressed so we can send you home"& left. GRRRR!!!  Luckly I had a pain pill just before that, & they sent in a perscription for liquid Loratab-icky taste but it sure works fast. OK,Enough gripping~I sure don't want to sound like a whiner! We still plan to go camping this weekend with some of you( Sherri & Bill, Floyd & Brenda- Hope & her hubby- anyone else going??) in Middleberry Fri. nite to Sun. afternoon, so I am hoping to feel better by then-Dr. Inman said "Ok, only if you take it easy & rest",I'm taking my lounge chair, some books, and Dominoes/ cards, so I'll be fine. cool.gif biggrin.gif Plus, I'm going to be "spoiled rotten" they tell me- healthy bariatric friendly foods, no cooking or cleanup, just rest & relaxation with my buddies!  I'm feeling alittle better today, taking it easy,I'm waiting for the Drs.office to set-up time next week to get the drain out. Well, I'm feeling like a nap is in order so bye ,I missed being with you at the exchange- hopefully I'll see you all at the next one! (((hugs))) Ellen

So glad they finally got you cleaned out and patched up.  You just sit back and take it easy.  If time permits I'll come to the campsite after the wedding reception Sat night.  DH says he doesn't want to stay long there anyway but it is one where they server a full dinner so who knows. It starts a 5 pm so we will see,  I'd love to get over there to vist with you all.

Ellen, I'm so glad you were up & about enough to post today. Sweetie, don't you know that you can ask the pharmacy to put flavoring in your loratab??? It helps ALOT with the taste! I usually just get grape. (newbies and pre-ops...take note: get flavoring for that loratab!!!).  I am looking forward to this weekend so much! I've enjoyed all of the amusement parks..but a whole weekend with my loser buds?!?!?! YAY!!!! Get plenty of rest sis... Sherri

Ellen, I'm so glad you finally got this taken care of!  I hope your recovery is speedy and "relatively" pain free.

Sherri,  I didn't know that- but now, if I ever need it again,I'll definately get flavoring!! They already had it packaged up when Dana went in to pay for it- gotta love CVS!! Oh, Dana says we are all ready to go other than his cooler. Mr. "get-r-done!"~hee~hee!!! Guess who called me an hr. ago to check up on me- yep, the nurse at the hospital. She apologized for the "mess" yesturday & told me I could change the outer bandage, if I wanted today. HUH, I am all taped up ontop of the second layer-NOT THE FIRST- no way I'll do it till tomorrow when its been 48 hrs. like the paper says. This call was about 1 hr. after I talked to Karen, at Dr. Inman's office & told her what had happened-  a coincidence, huh?! I don't think so. Atleast she did call, & I do feel better that she did.. The drain comes out on Mon. @ 10:40-woo~hoo!! No driving for 1 -2 weeks so Dana will take me. He's been so good to me and I'm trying not to be a pest! He fixed me blueberries & 1/4 c.cottage cheese & 1/2 c. mash potato for lunch.Yummy!! It is the first thing that tasted good to me. Cindy,  I made the Blueberry Lemonade Jelly Sunday from Nesa's reciepes, so delish- so yummy! Dana & grandson Quintin even liked it! I sure love those Splenda reciepes. If interested, try www.Splenda.com, there's some great ones there! Wish you'd be able to join us this weekend, hopfully we'll get together soon!  (((hugs))) Ellen
