Insurance's approval dates accurate?
Did anyone's insurance company give you accurate dates of service for approval?
Mine don't make sense because it would mean that my surgery would be on a Sunday.
According to my certification it says that my dates for approval are 8/19-8/21 for my Lap RNY at St. Vincents with Dr. Cacucci. Everything else is accurate, so I was just wondering if it sounds about right. Also if it's not accurate would it be hard to change the dates? I faxed my approval letter to Carmel Surgical this evening so obviously I've not heard anything back yet.
It's kinda important to have a date soon though because my husband works 2 jobs and so he has to make sure to take off from both and be able to give them enough notice. Unlike other surgeries and stuff Ive had one of his family members have came and stayed with me while he worked but driving back and forth to Indy for him to go to work and come back wouldn't be doable with gas prices the way they are.
I think my insurance gave a little broader range of dates. You would have to check with your Dr. to know when exactly you will be scheduled. I wouldnt' imagine that it would be hard to change the approval dates with the insurance. I mean, the big thing is getting approval for the surgery itself, right?

Call your provider, regarding your sugery date. Most Insurnace companies require all inpatient stays are pre-certified, so the hospital will verify your date. Again call your provider, then call your Insurance carrier. Be sure when talking to the Insurance you get the name of person who you are talking to! Best of luck!!!
