Big Medicine premieres TOMORROW, Monday, May 28, at 9pm EST on TLC!

Big Medicine is a new reality show on The Learning Channel that follows my dad and brother, Drs. Robert and Garth Davis, bariatric surgeons, and several of their patients through the process of bariatric sugery (mostly RNY, but also some lap-band).

I saw it!!, Well most of it... dont know how the guy came out of it did he loose the weight he needed to to get his bypass?? I felt so sorry for him and his mother too whose whole life has been taking care of him... I LIKE your brother and dad and am so glad this show is on the air.. and looks like it is pretty real to life I just couldnt understand why after a week the girl said she was tired and he gave her something to help... It is pretty normal to feel all drug out and tired.. goodness sake she had major surgery...He should have told her to sign up with OH!!! She would learn how to handle it!!  I think it could be a pretty positive show... Linda Kay

Linda, The guy is in the hospital and they are going to show more on him next week. The show is pretty good.  I didn't realize it was just Gastric Bypass surgeries.  My husband wasn't to keen on the surgeries being shown, I don't think he can handle the inside shots of the stomach.  I plan to keep watching.  The young girl who had plastic surgery looked awesome.  They did a terrific job on her.   Pauletta

I liked the show.  I thought it was well put together and well represents the process.  I think a little more explanations could have been done,( especially the gal didn't feel well a week out)  I thought she looked like she was getting along pretty good.  I was wondering if he put her on an antidepressant.  I'll keep watching and I've told a couple of people that are looking into surgery to watch it.  Hope it doesn't scare them off.
