Hi everyone, hope you're having a good, though rainy, start to your holiday weekend! We are expecting my parents and grandmother from Hammond today. We are all going to go to Maggie's first dance recital tonight. Then on Monday is our  trip to !Holiday World! How exciting will that be, to be able to actually ride the rides this time.  Linda Vicory

Hope you have good weather for Hoilday world.  I've never been there but is sounds like fun.  Today I've set aside for some serious house cleaning. (washing floors,windows,dusting and laundry) We have been so busy outside the last few weeks the inside looks neglected.  I've got 1 room done my family room.  I want to do the kitchen next, the the bathrooms. finally I need to vacumme all the cat and dog hair up before I wash the floors in LR,Kit, and our BR. (we have either hardwood or tile all over). The other two BR's will have to wait for another day.  Tomorrow I want to go to my folks house at the lake and watch the race.  Monday is free for now, we'll just have to see what happens.  Who knows, maybe we'll just do NOTHING for once. I'm hoping we get a little more rain. (I know that sounds weird) We have only gotten a few sprinkles so far and I need that pasture we seeded Wednesday to grow.  OK. back to cleaning. 

Linda, Have a terrific time at Holiday World! I know it was a huge WOW when I was able to fit into the coasters again! Now I get bounced around!  so I know I'm going to end up all black & blue by the time this summer is over! I gotta get my butt in gear and get busy. We're going to clean the inside of the RV this weekend (so it'll be OUR dirt inside it!!). Yesterday was a bit rough on my poor body though so I'm REAL slow in the motivation department today. I am really looking forward to a low key weekend.  I have 5 more days of school before summer vacation.  Can't wait.!  Summer vacation and snow days are real perks for a teacher.  Things are really hectic right now, since my daughter is doing her practicum in social work in Muncie and so I have granddaughter Emily now full time.  As of this morning, I have officially lost 100 pounds!  I am so excited and feel so great!  I thank God daily for the opportunity to have had surgery.  I am able to do so many more things now.  I still have over 100 more pounds to go, but current 268 is so much better than 368 was back in December 2006!  Jan, you mentioned a casino down at French Lick?  Where is that and how far away is it from Fort Wayne?  Send me more info...I would love to treat my daughter.  Karen

Karen, French Lick is about 40 miles south (sl west) of Bloomington.  (in the middle of no where) There are two old resorts there  built in 1901 (FLS) and West Baden in 1902.  These were resorts for the rich and famous of the time.  They came there for the quiet country and the healing water of the Pluto spring water. (sulfur water, basicly) They are fabulous big old hotels.  West Baden has been closed down for many years.  French Lick has just gone through some major remodeling when they got approval for the casino there.  They dug a hole in the ground to make the casino on water.  Orange county was one of the worst off in the state employment wise I believe I heard.  This should be a real boost for their economy.  You can look up the hotel on line by just searching for French Lick Springs resort.  We stayed there a couple of years ago before all the changes and I loved it then because of all of it's history.  I also took a tour of West Baden.  At the time only the ground floor had been renovated and it was goergous.  It would be  great place to visit. They also have shows at French Lick.  I think in June it is Kenny Rogers, I also saw Doobie brothers on the list and BB King is going to be there in November.  I think I have some pictures on my other computer that I can e-mail you of pre restoration hotels and grounds.
