Hi everyone! I'm having a pretty good Wednesday so far. I got to get rid of the drain tube yesterday and I feel soooo much better! My new tummy was bothering me last night though a bit. I feel so dang gassy still... anyone care to share how long that lasted after their surgeries? No shoulder pain, but last night I was laying in bed and rolled from my back to my side and I could just FEEL this giant gas bubble rolling up to my side and it HURT! LOL. Not a nice feeling. I just keep walking hoping it will go away soon. On a happy note, I'm now five days out and my scale this morning said I was 5 pounds down from my surgery date! Hooray! Another pound and a half and I'll be merely obese instead of severely obese. Yay! Hope everyone has a great day! Kim

Thanks Vicki.... I've been at a stand still for two weeks haven't lost a pound... haven't gained... I'm getting frustrated... I think it's cause I stepped up my workouts... i'm starting to do hard core cardio now and using my resistance bands to work out my triceps so i don't get bye bye arms, or at least try to keep them from happening as much as possible I know it will come off soon but dammit what the hell you know? I hope work has been well for you... Yesterday I got my hair done like i've been wanting it done for a long time... I LOVE IT!!! My husband got a job with insurance through the temp agency (which isn't much but something) so I can do roller derby !@!!! Tryouts are in July and I'm so excited... I need help with a new name though... here are some of the other girls names... Smacky Onassis, Touretta Lynn, Lily WHip, Mizz Understood, Blazin' Ace, Alison Rolerland, Megan Enemies, Jane Eyre... HELP!! I had Jess Ann Azwhupin, but it's too hard to say... I want something short and sassy and I need help!!! Melanie YOU LOOK FABULOUS!!! Congratulations dear!!! Sherri, I would love to go to dinner but Chinese makes me SO SICK!!!! I think it's the garlic even the smell of it makes me want to barf, did before surgery too, and it sucks because i LOVE chinese... I hope you all have fun though... I have found that I LOVE iced tea... I can't take crystal light every time i try and drink it it makes my tummy hurt so I've been making home made iced tea and it's delicious... i LOVE it and yes it's caffeine free... i replaced my coffee habit with tea it seems... lol i drink a cup of hot tea at night every night... i look forward to it it's like time to calm down or something... Well that's all from my blabber mouth.. Only in indiana can it be 85 one day and 60 the next... Oh is anyone going to carb day? Hi all. I don't post on here very often. I am usually at work but not for another 3 weeks. I am a week out postop. Started my calcium today- hope it doesn't do a whammy on my tummy. Went to Sam's club with my hubby to pick up the rest of my meds they didn't have ready last Thursday. Felt weak but I didn't pass out so that is good. It is great just to read all the posts on here. It really feels like a family. Questions: any suggestions on protien replacement- the Whey it getting to me and I hate it? How soon did people start driving? I have a hair appointment on Friday and hubby will be at work- I have not had pain meds since Monday night. Look forward to suggestions, Aleta

Aleta I started driving around 2 weeks after my surgery when I felt ok getting in and out of the car by myself and i hadn't been on any pain meds... you'll get really tired though so be prepared for that... Have you tried the Whey protein from GNC? It's like 29.99 a bucket but it has the least amount of after taste and I used it with lactaid because real milk upsets my tummy that's what i'm using for my protein anyway Jessyca

I was driving the day after my drain was removed. Dr said as long as I had been 24 hrs without pain meds it was ok. ... I got out of the hospital on Friday... and I drove on Sat. Then Sunday morning I was dying of pain from my drain and had to go back on pain meds...so I had to wait till Monday when the drain was removed...So Tuesday I was driving.....7 days after surgery I no longer took any pain meds.

Aleta, You may want to check out Shake-A-Whey at Cutting Edge Nutrition in Castleton. Ellen turned me on to them. Bill & I drove up there Friday. They will let you taste test them. I ended up getting a case of each flavor! The strawberry reminds me of Nestle's strawberry milk. The chocolate is a little thick and the vanilla is fine (for vanilla). I mixed 1 box of chocolate to 1 box of vanilla....and a half a pot of cold decaf coffee ....and wa-la...mocha java! It does come in mocha java, but they were out of it at the time. Calories per gram of protein is pretty comparable to AchievOne..but ALOT cheaper. It was ~$3.50 per box and 3 servings per box! I was allowed to drive as soon as I was Loratab free for 24 hours...so about a week. If you are still feeling light-headed though, you are NOT ready...k? Are you doing citracal?
