Sagamore said yes
I have read some posts on how Sagamore or any branch of it, is on predetermination for WLS. Sagamore is my secondary and they have approved me. I sent in everything they requested 4/9/07 and I just got me letter yesterday.
I thought for sure they were going to denied the surgery I am having on 5/9 and I would have to pay the very high deductible on my primary. I just wanted to let everyone waiting for Sagamore that it can be done. Hang in there.

Danielle,
Congrats!
Alot of it with insurances is that it all depends on which company the insurance is through as to what, if anything, will be covered. I have Anthem and they paid everything 100%. I also work for Lilly's. Other people who have Anthem have had to pay 20%-50% out of pocket. The company who contracts with the insurance has the ability to say what they do and don't want covered since the more coverage, the more expensive the insurance premiums are. To keep premiums low...especially for companies which pay partial or all of the premiums for their employees, they may tell the insurance company to deny certain procedures (either totally deny or partially cover).
Where are you having yours done at? Who is your surgeon? What procedure? Yep! We're a nosey bunch here!! lol

I have to agree. I did alot of research before I had surgery...being a nurse I wouldnt let just any surgeon cut on me. I spent alot of time finding out stats on all of the drs in INDIANA. I wanted Dr Cacucci but I would have went with anyone in their group. I was very lucky when I went for the seminar it was with her and so I went with her. I was very pleased. I havent had one problem since my surgery and I think shes the best!!!
I would recommend her to anyone.
