Dawn--update on my recent surgery
Dawn, I promised you I would let you know how my TT surgery went. It was great!!! I was so nervous. More so this time than with my WLS. I had a consultation with Dr. Turkle and she and her staff were great. Very professional and helpful. She was in my insurance approval list. Then I went to Dr. Weber in Bloomington who was not on my insurance approval list but later my insurance did approve him at their rates since Dr. Turkle was about two hours away for me. Dr. Weber was great. I had the surgery Tuesday, April 11th and stayed overnight in the hospital. I had absolutely no pain!!! I have never had to take that first pain pill. Dr. Weber told me to rest and to recline--not sit up. I never had to hunch my back over like I had read was usually a problem after having this surgery. The worst part of the surgery was the drains!!! Oh boy. I was so glad to get them removed the week after surgery. I went back to Dr. Weber Friday and he released me to start walking some--just not as fast or as far as my usual 3.5 mile walk each day. It sure felt good to get back to walking. I actually missed it. Never thought I would say that. Dr. Weber took off 5 pounds of excess skin. I went in to hospital weighing
156 and now weigh 146. I lost 5 more pounds as I have no appetite and have to force myself to eat again. My stomach is so flat it is hard to believe that it is me. Very worth the time and effort it took. If you have any questions, I will be glad to answer. I am speaking to our Bloomington support group at Bloomington Hospital on May 8th and sharing about my surgery with them so your questions will give me some ideas on what to share with them as well.
Anyway, I know you are nervous just like I was but it was a walk in the park for me.
Blessings,
Connie
