Hi Darcie, I just left Dawn & Mark. They are finally able to catch their breath a little bit I think. One of the insurance people should be there in a little bit. I think they know where they are staying tonight, but the offer was made if they'd like to come over to our place. We have a guest room and the RV sleeps 6..so they could take their choice. I will be keeping in contact with Dawn through this. Don't worry, I can be a good big sister. lol. I live maybe 15 minutes from her house and have her cell on my speed dial. I will be trying to take a collection to help defer the cost of the deductible ($1,000). I've put the word out, so clothes should be coming their way soon as well. Sherri, I was not able to make it to the clothing exchange! So, I have clothes--in 18's and 20's.

Sherri, please email me the address to send donations to. As far as the deductible, when I went thru a similar situation years ago, the insurance company will just total up the damamges and cut them a check minus the deductable amount. They do not have to "pay" it to anyone so any donations they get can well be used for things they need now. I would urge them to make sure they are well compensated from their insurance company. When ours happened we thought we were fine with the insurance co. adjuster and then an independant adjuster read about our fire and came to see if we wanted to hire them independatly to help us get our full amount of compensation. At first we thought they were just an "ambulance chaser" however in the end, we hired them they took 10% of our settlement and we ended up getting about 40% more from our insurance company than what they had offered us. So...it is wise to take your tiem and make sure you get what is coming to you. It paid for us and we were really happy. Insurance adjusters are really there to make sure the insurance company keeps your claims to a minium. Hang in there! Hugs! Marianne

Sherri Let Dawn know prayers are with her and her family. Please send your address. We are thinking about getting a walmart gift card so they can buy some of the necessities they need right now. How does that sound? Us guys did this for a member of the men's board that lost a home to fire and he said it really helped, especially for his two teenagers to get this things they have to have. Sherri please send an address where I can send a card to dawn and her family. I have never met her but her husband came to my house last year and picked up clothes that I had given her. Darcie, Oh gosh, thanks for letting us all know. I am going to try to get in touch with Dawn/Sherri today. What a shock for them~ I am so grateful they are ok. We all need our family at times like this & thankfully she has all of you.
