I was just up and my thoughts are going - so- I just wanted to say THANKS to OH and the Hoosier Losers ! I have been reading all of the post lately and it seems as if our group is getting stronger and more of a friends group, thats what we are all about ! I wanted to welcome others and invite them to share in some of our new found friendships! Just like with the clothing exchange-(these are just a few examples, but there are many others) Jan is helping Sarah, Linda is helping Mindi, Jessyca is helping Vicki as was Peggy, my mom and myself are helping Gail, and I am sure there are more that I don't even realize, BUT it is just so warming to see all of the support that we are all giving and participating in. I am so thankful to have found this support system and have had many of you to share my journey with! I look forward to hopefully helping some of you as much as I have received help from many on this board! I have found some great friends and am hoping to increase that number as time goes on. I look forward to meeting so many new people today at the clothing exchange! I would like to personally invite any of the lurkers both new or old pre or post op to jump in and be a part of such a great group and if you have time and would like to come to the clothing exchange that would be great too! So many of us look forward to these gatherings, not only for the opportunity of clothing but the great fellowship that we can have with our new wls family and friends! Enough of my late night ramblings, I must get some sleep! so to all the shy, embarrassed and those not sure they are ready to meet and greet- I say to zap those feelings - get rid of em they are no good and we are here and ready to help ya! We are a great support system and the friendships are an added bonus! Thanks to everyone! Hope everyone has a great day and those that are traveling have a safe trip! Hope to see some more new faces! This is definitely been the most receptive and friendliest room I have viewed! But then, that is just the way Hoosiers are! I think everyone here goes way out for each other and have the most uniques ideas for get togethers! I hope to join you all soon on that bench!

While you're waiting for that bench, please feel free to join us for our activities. They are for pre as well as post-ops!! We like to be here for each other for every step of the journey and we all recognize that the effort and frustration that leads up to the actual surgery has a great impact on each person. We have a clothing exchange/pot luck this afternoon. Please join us. We also know that with you being pre-op, you probably don't have any clothes to bring, and that is fine. I'm sure there will be some there that you could make use of though, so please do!! Sherri

This is my first post and I just couldn't let this beautiful invitation pass me by. I have been trying to find my place on this web site for a little while now. I was unsure where to go to feel like I belong. IN or AZ! I have lived in AZ for the past 7 years and I had my RNY there on 12-21-2006. One month later my 2 year old and I joined my husband here in Southern IN. He had moved out here in October 2006 alone, to start his new job, so that I would be able to bring my WLS journy (that I started in April '06) to it's climax. He has been uber-supportive of me and my quest! That being said, I have seen such care and concern from one person to another here, that I know that I have found the group for me. I know that you all will welcome me in and help me to make it on this wonderful path to health and peace. I look forward to getting to know many of you and becoming a "Hoosier Loser" I only hope that I can be as much of a help as I know you all will be to me. Thank You for making me feel so welcomed! Welcome Andrea! I am from Salem, which is about 30 minutes southeast from you! I have been in both the Indiana and the Kentucky rooms...both a great rooms! The Indiana one has definitely been the most receptive! The journey as well as the website is new for me, but I feel very fortunate to have made the contacts in here! I felt very alone in this until I got to meet what has to be the most active support group on OH! So, welcome !!!

Andrea, welcome and Lee, welcome as well if you are new to posting. I am fairly new to the board myself and am pre-op. I am scheduled for surgery 5/11 so just about to become an official Hoosier Loser. I have not had the opportunity to meet many of the people on this site either and yet I feel like I know them. I agree with you ladies that everyone is warm, supportive and encouraging. I have seen no bashing as on other sites and that is very nice. Andrea, having walked this journey for a year or so I am sure you have insight to share. I will look forward to learning from you. Lee, we can learn together. Anyone else out there--please join us!! Peg, Thank  you so much for your kind words.  I look forward to helping you along the way in whatever capacity that I can.  Please let me know if I can shed any light on anything.  I had so many questions before my surgery, I didn't know where to start!  Congrats on your surg date and let the count down begin!  Andrea
