I"M SO BORED!!! I hate not working... I never in my life thought that I would say that. I'm seriously considering going to school to getr my nail technician license. My mom owns a beauty shop and I could work in there. It's 3 months and I would get my unemployment while I'm doing that... Mom is thinking about sponsoring me... hmmm... hopefully i can find some information the thing is that most of the places are closed on mondays... Sending positve thoughts towards Vicki, may her surgery go fast and well with an easy recovery... I tried the cappucino flavored optima slim fast yesterday, I was out shopping and didn't have any way to keep my protein shakes cold and it made me sick... I think it was the sugar or something.. i started getting light headed and sweating and just felt weird... is that dumping? I've been craving tomatoes like nobody's business.. I can't wait until I can have a damn tomato... luckily i get them after my next dr's visit on may 10th... i'm SO excited!! TOMATOES!!! YUMMY!!! and I can have crackers but that's not nearly as thrilling as tomatoes to me... well... that's about it on this end... i'm going to go read my book i think... Hope everyone has a great day!! Look at you!!! Looking great! Yep, that was dumping! I stick to the LoCarb SlimFast when a shake is called for. Too much sugar and carbs in the other varieties. I share your passion for tomatoes. To quote an old country song, "Only two things that money can't buy...that's true love and home grown tomatoes!" Annette

Love the new avatar Jessyca! You can have all my tomatoes. YUCK! If they arent in salsa form, I'm not interested. Sounds like you might as well go get your nail license (and then do my nails! ha!) while the unemployment checks are still available to ya. Hubby stayed with Gwyn yesterday morning so that I could go to the nursery and pick some flowers out for the front yard. Havent had a chance to plant them yet though. I need to get a few bags of potting soil, and those are way over my 10 pound lifting limit. So maybe I can talk him into a trip to walmart this evening. Here's hoping that Vivki's suregery goes well today! I knew it was the 23rd, but for some reason thought the 23rd was wednesday. Silly me.

Great new picture, Jessyca! I got really bored staying at home too, after surgery, and, after Maggie was born. I just am not a SAHM type of mom. Don't get me wrong, if it works for you great, but I'm glad I have an option of working. Although I would relish about a week off of work right now, just to get caught up on things. I will get my time off this summer. I am going to Little Rock, Arkansas, for a class that I am taking in July. I will be there for class for several days, for my master's degree program in Rehabilitation Counseling. Linda Vicory

Jess, Great pic! If it's any consolation to you, I'm bored and I am AT WORK! Mondays tend to be like this. I'll be busting it tomorrow though...and tomorrow I have to leave early for a dentist appointment! Wish that was today instead. Saturday, Bill & I walked the neighborhood (2.3 miles) then went shopping. Yesterday, Jay (my son) came over and him & I got all the stuff put into the ground. Planted 8 tomato plants (beefsteak & supersteak), 3 rose bushes (1 each: Yellow, pink, orange), 3 hosta's, and 2 pk of marigolds. We also pruned back some bushes. It was a dirty work but so invigorating!! Made me feel like spring is finally here! Today, I went for a meeting at lunch today for a new walking program...Start..it's suppose to be nation-wide. It's to get people to work their way up to 10,000 steps a day. I thought I'd go because then it would force me to get those steps in on the weekend. Today's goal was 3,000 steps for the day. I have in 5,544 so far...lol. We also had to sit through a few slides on how bad the problem of obesity has gotten in the US since the 1980's...and specifically in Indiana. Hmmmm.....I think that we all could have had a little personal insight on that topic, huh? I agree with the others..go get your nail tech license! Be sure to learn how to put on acrylics! It'd be nice having someone do them that I understand! Where's your mom's beauty shop at? What all services does her shop offer? Oooo...A box was just delievered! I have something to do!!!! Sherri

Mom's shop is in Plainfield which is close for me, but kinda far for you ... sorry Sherri, but I will be learning acrylics... Is there a website for that program START? I'm going to walk for my exercise mainly... I would really like to start doing the Zumba DVD's but... I don't know if I can afford them right now with me not working. Do you grow your maters in pots or in the ground? Our soil is awful here and I want to grow them in pots but I've tried for the past 3 years and each year nothing... Any tips? Jessyca

Jessyca, Well darn! Figures the shop would be so far away! I'm going to have to check out gels. I'd never heard of them before. START is through the American Heart Association. Here's the URL: http://www.americanheart.org/presenter.jhtml?identifier=3045703 I plant the tomatoes in the ground. I add some potting soil to the soil when I plant them and then I feed them with Miracle Gro about once per week or every 2 weeks. We also keep an ice cream bucket on the counter during the tomato season. We put all of the coffee grounds, egg shells, fruit/vegetable peels & cores into it. When it gets filled up, I spread the garbage around the bottom of the plants. It helps to give them the nutrients they need, plus adding moisture when you include melon rinds. Also, be sure you stake them well so that any thunderstorms aren't going to tear them apart. I use the metal rings that are about 4' high (they are reusable). You can get the dirt ($3/bag) and stakes ($2-4 each) at K-Mart or Wal-mart. Lastly, get you plants from a good place. The ones I got at K-Mart last year didn't do well at all. Those I got at Mike's Market (a fruit & vegetable Mom & Pop store) did great. This year, I went with the nursery down the street. I also went with beefsteak & supersteak varieties since they should be meatier. Mike's doesn't have a tag on their's to say what kind they are. but they weren't that meaty. Sherri

HI Jessyca, Your new pictures looks great! You look very happy even if you are bored. I was getting ready to post about the nails when I read Sherri's post. Sorry Sherri, the acrylics don't stay on me. I was going to ask that she do the gel nails instead . I keep hoping I'll have enough money one day to get my nails back on. It's hard to find techs who do the gel nails though, I guess they are more expensive. Tania

Tania, The girl I will be replacing only does Gels so I will be doing mostly gel sets and they are more expensive but they do last longer,... I'm also going to learn acrylic as well though because they're cheaper and what more of my friends and stuff will want. Thanks about the picture. I can tell a HUGE difference in my face. Jessyca
