I'm am 2 weeks away. There is so much going on in my life, I have to work 48 hours in the next four days, (cant take off cause I'm using my time for surgery) Just found out that my father is having surgery on Monday of which I cant attend, my grandmother has fallen ill, my husband is interviewing for a new job, my eight year old has baseball practice...etc, my 10 month old has a cold, just got a new puppy, and did I mention I work nights and sleep only when I get a chance. My mother in law lives out of state and has offered to come up and help while I'm in the hospital (which I really appriciate honestly) I'm franticly cleaning my house, cant sleep and I've physically gotten sick several times in the last couple days, (nerves) so much that I'm starting to loose my voice. I am on the edge constantly to the point my husband, family and friends are noticing, they all have things of their own and cant help that much. Dont get me wrong my husband is awsome and very supportive just busy. Does anyone have any suggestions? I know I'll be fine I just gotta make it thru the next month or so. I'm tired of getting sick and I need to sleep when I can, but I'm so on edge, usually I'm good with stress and can relax but too much is too much.

Try to take care of yourself, and get some sleep as your body needs it. You want to be in the best possible condition for surgery. Don't worry so much about cleaning the house. Let your mil help with that when she's here! Linda Vicory

Aimie, Find a friend who can help with the transportation of your son to practice. Clean the bare essentials and the rest can wait plus it will give your mil something to do while she is there. Next for you--- contact your Dr. and see if he/she is willing to give you some medication to help calm you down or an antidepressant. I know Dr. Jones routinely prescribes an antidepressant for all her patients starting 2 weeks before surgery and continues afterwards. You don't have to take it but that is her preference. I think you need to consider some meds just so you are more rested and ready for your surgery. If you are running at overdrive you immune system will suffer and you might end up with a cold, etc and not be ready for surgery. Please consider your health and give your Dr. a call. Peg

I'm getting to the point where if it gets done it does if it doesnt oh well, just do what HAS TO be done right now. I'll call the doctor Monday. I have full blown laryngitis which is terriable because 95 % of my job is talking, so everyone that I work with has to take up my slack. I did get a couple (3) hours sleep so things are better today than what I thought, just still sick (nervous). Thanks, I'll call Dr. Monday.
