Mindy, I slept in my recliner for the first week. The night I got my drain tube out was the first night in my bed...and it felt great! Hope you get to feeling better! Sherri

I feel your pain. the good thing is that it goes away. I guess I have a pretty high pain tolerance- I have not had to take any pain mesd in the last 24 hours. I am glad you are home and hope you have a recliner to sit in. Maybe you can borrow one from a neighbor until you are better. Glad you liked the flowers! Shel

GET A RECLINER!!! I'm still sleeping in mine... 3 weeks out... they're fabulous, they make it easier to get up too... if you don't have one girl go to the nearest goodwill and get one... that's what I did... I'm glad you're home!! Jessyca

Did they give you a belly band? I found that helped a lot with the pain. It helps to hold everything in place. If they didn't, or if it's too big already, go to WalMart and get one of those elastic waist bands in sporting goods that are supposed to help you sweat off your waist. They hold everything in place and give you enough support to get up and move. It also allows you to sleep on your side. I personally could never sleep on my back. Best wishes, Annette

Melynda Sorry to hear that you are having trouble getting in and out of bed. The recliner will defiantly help. I was very lucky to have a hospital bed here at home. I have had it for my back problems and VA provided it for me. So my wife has her own twin bed and I have hospital bed (old people do have twin beds when they get to their med 60's) Lastly, take the pain medication you dr provided for you. If the pain meds are making you sick, call you surgeon's office and see if maybe they give you something different. We will keep you in our prayers that the pain will soon come to an end. Dan

Wow Dan, You kinda sound like my parents. After us kids all moved out my dad got his own bedroom so now they each have not only their own queen sized bed but they have their own rooms too....

Meylinda- I was not in a great deal of pain other than a stabbing pain from my drain tube passing through, and irritating, my muscle wall. It got so bad that the doc had us pull it out AND THE RELIEF WAS INSTANT. Hopefully as soon as your drain comes out, it will make a big difference in your comfort level. Belle PS CONGRATULATIONS!
