Curious about insurance prereq.

I am on medicaid and have decided that its time to consider bariatric surgery. I am 30 years old, weigh in at 245 and have been at this weight for 13 years. I have tried several diets and have been on an ongoing diabetic exchange diet for a few years now. I have major spinal deformities along with insulin resistance, and high blood pressure. I am intersted in finding out if anyone knows what procedures are covered by Indiana Medicaid and what the requirements are. I just want to know what i can talk to my doctor about so i dont look like an idiot when i go in to consult about this. Thanks for the help!

I am sorry, i do not have any info about medicaid! However I wanted to wish you the best and let you know that it is nice to see you posting. I hope that you can find out the info thatyou are looking for! Have you tried calling the medicaid and asking them what they require, or looking into vocational rehab? I am not sure exactly how that works either, hopefully someone else can chime in, if they are familiar with it! It is a personal decision that we all must make and be ready for.
