I knew it.
Well,
BCBS of IL denied me. They said I didn't have enough notes on medical weightloss. So, it'll probably be next year by the time I actually get the surgery done. I'll still stay on my diet and try to lose the same way I've been trying to lose for the last 20 years. Thank goodness for Wellbutrin or I would be a total wreck right now.
be sure to appeal, all the way through the 3rd party review. Also, Indiana law now requires no more than 6 months of physician supervised weight loss can be required, so if they are asking for more question it. Frequently the surgeon's office will go ahead with things like the nurtitional classes etc. while you are doing that.
I do plan to appeal it. I just wish I would've listened to my gut and waited before I filed for it. But the insurance lady seemed to think that my gestational diabetes diet as well as my physical therapy would be enough to get it through. I had my doubts though. I have been seeing my family doctor for monthly weigh-ins recently and I start weigh****chers this saturday. I'm just kinda bummed because now I'm afraid my insurance is going to try to deny the costs of all the tests that I had to have done to get approval.
