just wanted to update ya all a little

so for the end of my diet I will be done with my 6 months on may 8th. I seen the surgeon on thursday and he gave me a paper for my pcp dr to make out for the letter of medical necessity since my pcp dr dont want to help me. they also told me to send all my paper work to them and they would get it to the ins company. so as of right now all I need to do is get that paper made out and then get my paper work from my 6 months of diet. when it came to the 6 months of diet do you just turn in all the paper work during that 6 months? or do I need to write up a letter about them? thanks to everyone that has helped me with all this stuff. if it wasnt for all of you i dont think i would have any hair on my head. brandy

Brandy, You'll want to contact your insurance company and see what all they require besides the 6 months supervised diet. Many will also require dietician notes, physician notes, testing results (ie sleep apnea), personal journals (dieting/exercise), psyche exam, and letters of medical neccesity from the family physician and from the bariatric surgeon. Once you know what all they require, you'll better be able to judge how to send it all in. Good luck with all of it!! Sherri

I have talked to my ins company and the want pretty much everything you said. I have the dietician notes i will be getting them next month. physician notes i am getting them on monday. they didnt say anything about any tests or the personal journals. I had to get a psyche exam I passed that. I have the letter of medical neccesity for family dr he just has to fill it out on monday when I see him. I seen the bariatric surgeon on thursday and he told me I need the surgery so they are going to write up a letter for that. so i think I pretty much have everything but the notes and I am working on getting them. my 6 months of diet ends on may 8 th so I want to have anything then so i can get it sent in.
