I will be close enough to my kids that maybe grandpa will bring them up to see me.MAYBE all i hear from my dad is I told you so! he did want me to have this surgery and now he has something new to complain about. like he actually needed anything else lol take care everyone Carmen my aunt lives in texas and it is beautiful down there so it wont be so bad.

Kathy, Did your pcp call your surgeon and discuss his game plan? I know that with me, if the 2 had different ideas of how to treat me...when it comes to my pouch...the surgeon would win every time. It makes me nervous when I hear about a non-bariatric doctor playing cowboy with our pouches. By the way...thank you also for asking about Bill. The eye specialist saw a pool of blood behind the cornea and thinks that once it is gone, Bil may regain a little bit of his vision. A little bit would be much better than the nothing it is now. hi Sherry I am asumming my pcp did call my surg he left for a while then came back. the pcp is primarily concerned with the dehydration, anemia, and the bleeding ulcer. my surgeon gave the pcp a list of vitamins to be added to the iv bag to make sure I am getting the vitamins I need Hopefully Bill's eye will clear up very soon

I'm glad your surgeon is looped in on what your pcp is doing. I've had other specialists try to put me on stuff that wasn't very bariatric friendly (one pill that can EASILY cause ulcers with us!!), advise a dose of sugar to help with the hypoglemia (nope, no way, now how am I going to risk dumping...or not dumping! Have had no intentional sugar yet, not gonna do it now!)...or give me capsules (like they are going to dissolve with no stomach acid???). I do not hesitate one bit in asking them to call Dr. Gupta. Always feel comfortable in not only suggesting that they call Dr. Diaz but also in asking if they did it. I had switched pcp's when the idiot I was going to was dumb enough to ask me about 3 months post-op if there was any differences in what I could eat pre-op vs post-op. I figured that if he was so stupid that he couldn't have already known that, I didn't want to entrust him with my physical well-being. Now, I know my pcp is VERY knowledgeable about bariatric surgery and would not hesitate a second in contacting Dr. Gupta (in fact, has on more than one occation). I hope you feel better very soon!
