Good Morning all
Got home about 730 last night. Just no time to get on and post. Taking a few minutes now during a trip to the potty room. Gwyn was up and down a lot. She's a snuggler, so it was hard getting her to sleep in the crib, but for the last two hours (knock on wood) she's been pretty quiet.
I'm very tired and incrdibly sore. When I first posted, I only had a first degree laceration, and was feeling pretty good. That was until they made me try to pee. Then I thought I was going to die. Everyone was amazed how fast I got dialated, got her out, and after only about an hour and my epidural had wore, I was not wanting them to drain my bladder for me, but to walk to and use the restroom myself. WHen I tried to pee and about died, they wheeled me back to the bed and did another exam, only to find my insdes basically shredded. I have NUMEROUS lacerations inside, mostly around, go figure, my bladder and urethra. So now that my pain drugs had worn off, they decide I'm going to have to have a cathedar for a few days. I honestly would have rather birthed 9 more children than have one more cathedar put in. It hurt SO bad. I was laying on my back, and had tears STREAMING down my back I was crying so hard. The nurses all told me that the one of them that had worked there the least amount of years had been there 20 years, and they had seen very few bottoms in such bad shape. So home, but sore. I think I got the best compliment in the world from my mother in law. She said,"I thought I gave birth to the most eautiful babies, but THIS baby is even more beautiful." She really is a good looking kids, I'll try to post some more pics here on my profile in a few. They offered us another night at the hospital because we're having breastfeeding problems, and she's a bit jaundiced. At 2 this morning I was really regretting not having a nursey to help out, but we made it through and I'm gald I decided to go ahead and bring her home.
Pam... SUre hope everything goes well with the new big move and good luck on that job!
How did BIll's surery go? I prolly missed a post for it, but like I said- I've been a busy girl.
Darrah, so sorry to read u are having such pain. That sounds horrible. I sure hope that heals up fast. Thats enough to scare me off of giving birth...think I'll adopt now...lol
Congrats on your beautiful baby girl. My husband and I really like the name u picked as well. Maybe u should sneak off and get some sleep now.. u wont get many chances for that in the months to come it sounds like.
Deb, Its a new job for me...its with kids at a state childrens home near Knightstown and I work with 20 and 30 somethings mostly at a drug and alcohol rehab now. Both are run by the state...at least for now...Dear Mitch is selling us all off so who knows how long we will be around.
Oh Darrah, what we go through for our little ones! What kind of breastfeeding problems are you having? I tried to breastfeed the first two times. The first time, Mikey was so early (5 weeks), that my breast milk never really came in well, despite pumping, so we had to use bottles. The second time, I breastfed for about two weeks, and I was just plum worn out. I was used to my hubby being able to help with bottles, and with breastfeeding of course he couldn't, so we switched her to formula. (By the third time when Maggie was born, I was already on blood pressure medication, and so they said I should NOT try to breast feed.) So I guess what I am saying is that breastfeeding is great when it works for your family, but if it's not working for your family, don't feel bad about trying bottles and formula!
Linda Vicory
Mariah- Good luck on the job! That sounds awesome! Did they accept your offer on the house?
Darrah- So sorry about the pain! It will pass quickly hopefully and you'll be as good as new! If you need any support on breastfeeding, I nursed my first 2 kids for 18 months each, and the twins for a year. I am no expert, but I have plenty of experience!

Hey Darrah, I wanted to chime in with my breastfeeding info too. I agree, if it doesn't work out for you, you shouldn't feel bad about switching. That being said I breastfed my first DD for 23 months and my second DD for 30 months, so it can work out. I will also say it can be really hard at first but it almost always gets easier with time. Don't be afraid to contact someone at La Leche League or your hospital's lactation consultants... they're there just to help out with whatever probs you may be having. Also, if you ever have any questions for me, feel free to e-mail.... With all that time spent with babies hanging off me
I have probably run into most problems at one point or another.
Good luck with it all, and just know that whatever you end up doing feeding wise, it will be the right thing and best decision for you and your sweet girl.

Sorry it's taken me awhile to get on here & give you all an update. Bill's surgery was suppose to start at 12:30 yesterday...it didn't until ~3. It was suppose to take 1 hour, it took till 5:30. They fiddle-farted around trying AGAIN to get that old tube to work. He said that was the most painful experience he has ever had. This coming from a man who has had ~20+ eye surgeries and a quadruple by-pass! After about an hour of that crap, they stopped what they were doing to re-sterilize everything, and then FINALLY put in the new tube with the valve and extended tube. They patched his eye up good. After he got home, he slept. He woke up once about 12:30 and took some pain meds but other than then, he slept.
Bill's first follow-up was this morning at 7:45. They removed the patch and took his pressure. It was 11...which is excellent! So far though, Bill's vision is to the extent that close up, he can tell the difference between dark and light but that's it. That is an improvement over what it was at the doctor's office though. There, it was nothing at all. They seem to think that the lack of vision is because of the rapid drop in pressure and that once the eye gets accustomed to the pressure being lower, the vision will return. Bill's next appointment is Monday afternoon. I'll let you all know how he progresses. I hated coming to work and leaving him alone. Because of me missing with that migraine though, I haven't gotten anything done this week yet.
Darrah...sorry that you were so torn up. I hope you begin to heal quickly. Can't wait to see pics of that little angel.

There are a few pics up on my profile if anyone is looking for them. I'll have some pics at the girls day out on saturday. I'll prolly only be there for lunch. Hubby forgot about the lunch/activity and told MIL that we would bring Gywn over at some point on saturday. She's so excited about the baby and sad that we're moving. So I want her to be able to spend some time with her while she can. But im definatly still in for lunch- both me and my new gi-nourmous boobs.
