Thanks judy!!! The panni is the apron part of your belly! Where you have the overhang!!! My docs feel that with this extra skin this will continue to cause me hernias so it would be better to remove it while repairing this hernia! Also. I have been experiencing some nerve burning pain for quite some time, have had mri, blood tests injections meds etc and they are all in agreeance that I have a pinched nerve that they believe is being pressured by the extra panni- so i get to have the procedure through insurance for medical necessity! I do have some rashes every so often under there as well, but I have more issues with the breast area than any other- the ps doc says that she thinks I could most likely have a breast lift and augmentation too- we shall see! I also have United healthcare- encore- hope this helps!Good luck to you on your journey! I will keep in mind about the pain meds- but they are what concerns me- after my rny I had reactions to the pain meds and my oxygen level and heart rate bottomed out- so i am pretty nervous about any other procedures! But I will continue with my needs and hope for the best! hugz Dawn

Dawn, Congratulations! That is fantastic news. Now I know that I am only 6 weeks out from my RNY, but right now, I'm thinking I don't want PS. It just scares me. RNY didn't really scare me, but for some reason PS does. I wish you much success. Donna
