Oh my goodness, I received a call today that my insurance company has approved my PLASTIC SURGERY! I won't have a date until Monday, but I once again am on my way! I am a nervous wreck about having this procedure done, but it is mediacally necessary, so i need to do it asap, and get it over with! I know that I will be having it done at Clarion North, but when is still up in the air, have to get 2 surgeons schedules to match- so Monday I should know! For those of you needing PS, please make sure to document everything. I definately could not afford to have had this done and through the insurance I will now be able to have some of it taken care of. Don't give up! Thanks for sharing in my new WOW moment! This journey is amazing! Hugz Dawn

Thanks Angie, I aint gonna say I am not scared, cause I am. Heck, I wanted to know what the heck I did to myself when I first had my RNY, but now that I look back it wasn't that bad. BUT- I am so scared of the pain from this. Just hope I have some good drugs and it doesn't make me nauseated. My bariatric surgeon said he thought I would be out of commission 6-8 weeks, another doc said 8-10! I am not looking forward to that! I can only hope that I am up and at em like Carmen was- she was doing fantastic at 9 days out! I am keeping my fingers crossed! You can do it!!!! Just gotta make sure its what you wanna do! I said nothing else elective- it had to be a necessity and so it is! hugz DAWN

Yep- my doc always told me that i would want to go full circle, but I always insiste dthat no I was only having what I had to have medically. I am too scared- I did have an incident when I was in the hospital before that makes me feel this way-BUT I have accepted that I need this and am hoping that it is complication free and not TOO much pain! Carmen gives me hope! Thanks ! Hugz Dawn

Dawn: Fill us in on your secret of getting approved!!! I know with a lot of documentation and pictures they (my insurance) will cover a paniculectomy (sp?) but that is the only thing they will consider. I would LOVE to get a thigh lift and tummy tuck, well, lipo and boob job too would be nice Congrats! You and Carmen are gonna be in your bikini's by summer Claudette

I went to Dr. Grasse- same facility as Carmen, different doc- I am having a panniculectomy (sp) with some mons reduction and the hernia repair! I was offered to pay the difference and go for the adominplasty, but I am not able to pay for that! I have had a nerve burning sensation for several months since my surgery and have had several docs pcp, neorlogist, ct, obgyn all say that they thought that my panni was causing the nerves to be intrapped and causing me pain. Lots of meds and documentation- as well as the PS doc has also documented along with my pcp and my bariatric surgeon where I have continued to have incidences under my breast- my rny was postponed initially because of this- and it is still an ongoing issue-so the PS doc has said that she thinks with all of this still going on that she could probably do a braest lift with insurance approval! I have to think on this one! The ONLY reason I am doing the panni is because I HAVE to have the hernia repaired and I will already be put under! I don't do well with pain meds and have had problems bottoming out and so that is why I am so scared to have anything else elective done! But, that being said, I do want others to know that if they are able to fight and have it covered under insurance, it is possible! I know that it might not be that easy under every insurance company, but there is hope! Sorry so winded! Just want ya to get it if ya want it! DOCUMENT_ DOCUMENT_DOCUMENT!!! we also did discuss the thighs if I still have the nerve burning, but again, I am hoping this is all I will need! Good luck to you though and whatever PS you look into- I wish you the best! Hugz Dawn
