Oh my god Deb you don't know how I needed to hear that!!! I am having a roux next Friday, (good friday). Everyone keeps asking me how I feel. I really don't know. I'm nervous, I'm excited, I'm......................................... My husband and I went to Indy today and I told him I just have to have steak, because we just don't know if we'll ever be able to eat that again. Thats what I keep hearing, "I know 2 gals that had that surgery and then they became lactose intolerant. Who knows and I think thats the hardest part, not knowing how my life will change. However I so appreciate your input. Continued GREAT luck. Thanks Hoozurdeb

Hey Debbie....Do I know what you mean! I felt like I was torn a dozen different ways and still felt like that way the 2 days after surgery...you know the old saying "What have I done?" Well, it only took the fourth day for my New Life to begin...I think it was the hospital blues. I've had them before but had forgot about them. I had my surgery done last Tuesday went home on Thursday feeling BAD and THEN Friday CAME and I felt like a new woman...NO KIDDING!!! Now I am down....drum roll....this is unbelievable 18 lbs since Friday. I weighed 238 when I went into surgery and weighed this morning and it was on 220! They say it's not uncommon to lose 30 lbs the first month. If this is true and believe me the scales don't lie...I may one of them that may happen to! I was so scared that I may be lactose intolerant....yrs of drinking soy milk???? NO WAY. It seemed everytime I drank my shake my stomach would roll around like a dryer tumbler plus the gas from the surgery..you are pretty swelled from it...key to helping this? Get some chewable "GAS-X" gas pills and take them to the hospital with you!!!! They will be your life saver. Thank God...my stomach has calmed down. I am NOT lactose intolerant...YES If I can help anymore...just let me know..Deb

Debby, We must stay in touch, we seem to have several things in common. Besides our name and the close dates of surgery, I now weigh 238 (as of Monday). The way its going I'm sure I will gain a few more by next Friday. I'm saying goodbye to favorite foods a day at a time,(or maybe just see ya later). Where is Princeton,In? I'm from Richmond. I truly appreciate all your tips and I will put GasX on my pre-op meds list. Next week I have to go and buy all my vitamins etc. Wal-Mart has that program for generic drugs for $4.00, well on that list is chewable muti vitamins so I'm going to try them. Hows it going with you and the vitamin and mineral regimen? Continued success. hoozurdeb
