I know that about a month or so ago there was a post about this, but I looked and could not find it. People gave some creative suggestions on what to take, or what they didn't take but wished they had taken. Can we get your input again?

I was thankful for my crocs, and loose pajama pants. I wore the pants underneath the gown so I wasn't mooning the entire floor! Lip balm was nice because I was so thirsty and couldn't have anything other than ice chips at first.

Shellye, I took all kinds of stuff, and only a hand full of it did I use. Chap stick is a must, house slippers and a robe, sweat pants to wear home, your tummy will be faily swollen and tender so you won't feel like and probably won't be able to wear jeans out of there. The morphine pump knocked me out so I slept most of the time. Didn't even pick up the good book I had been reading or the magazines I brought along. Hope this helps. Hugsss, Tammy

Just your tooth brush, chapstick.. walking slippers, loose pants or jammies... you will be either sleeping or walking... no time for anything else!! Linda

Shellye, I did bring a book, magazines, and a puzzle book. I found it hurt more getting up & down in bed so once I was up, I was up. If I wasn't walking or doing a breathing exercise, I was in the chair exercising my brain. So if you're the kind whose mind gets bored quick, yes, bring something. Also, bring an MP3 if you have one. Music or an e-book would be a great companion. If you have sleep apnea, don't forget to bring your c-pap. Sherri

course your toofy brush & paste, brush/comb and lot's of hair bands. My cell phone...LOL..that's my own personal obsession. PJ bottoms and like someone else mentioned my Crocs (or some really comfy shoes you can walk safely in). I brought a book but never opened it...the morphine drip and pain killers stopped me from trying to read. If you like music bring your CD player. Oh yeah, definitely bring something to wet your lips like chapstick....you will be very parched. they never offered to give me a sponge bath so I had to ask for cleaning stuff. I would have brought adult type baby wipes just to freshen up. I was only there for 2 days but used everything. Actually scratch the pj bottoms and bring a robe. I had a cathater in for 1/2 the time. Or ask for another hosp gown and wear it as a robe. Why create laundry if ya don't have to! good luck, my time flyed by! Judy
