This is what I just posted to my blog... great start to my weekend. I am so sick of being fat. Tonight when picking up my daughter from daycare I slipped and fell on the wet tile and broke my left elbow. The extra bad part is I did this exact same thing to my right elbow back in September or October and that one still hurts! I've managed to go my whole life without breaking any bones and then during my 2nd pregnancy after getting really big I fell and broke my tailbone. Then right after she was born I fell on the stairs and re-broke my tailbone. This was in 2003. Then this fall I broke the right elbow and now my left! The ER doc said the type of fracture I got was fairly common if you fall and try to catch yourself with your arm outstretched. I feel like it is trying to catch all that extra weight is what is causing my fractures. This sucks. I'm having to hunt and peck with only one hand! Anyway, that was my big adventure for the evening... just wanted some sympathy & commiseration. Kim

Oh wow, Kimberly. What an evening you have had! I am so sorry for your misfortune. Hope you are able to get comfortable and get a good night's sleep tonight. Hang in there even if you have to do it with just 5 little fingertips!! Peg

Kimberly, I am so sorry to hear of your bad evening! I do hope that you are able to be comfortable! I have had some broken bones as well and agree, they are no fun! Hopefully you will be starting your journey and all of these unfortunate happenings will be few and far between. I wish you the best! Post as you can. Hugz Dawn

Kim I'm so sorry to hear about you broken elbow! I know what you mean about being fat and falling I'm doing the same but luckly so far I haven't broken anything! The day before christmas eve I fell at work and dislocated my thumb. The end of Jan I fell and injured my collarbone. The to top it off a couple of weeks ago I fell down the stairs! I guess I don't bounce back like I used to you would think with all this padding it would protect me from injury. My boyfriend wants to wrap me in bubble wrap lol. Hope the elbow heals quickly. Wow sounds like you had an eventful last couple of days. I know what you mean about being fat and falling. My right hip goes out on me all the time, last summer I was walking out to the car(my husband and I were getting ready to leave)and just so happened one of his co-workers were driving by, my hip went out and I fell out on our front lawn, I made my husband call him and let him know I'm not some stumbling drunk just clumsey. I felt so stupid, but I believe its my weight that makes my hip go out and it causes alot of pain. Hope this made you atleast smile, I'm sure you'll be back to yourself in no time. You know if you need anything I'm in the area.

I am the queen of falling. I think I have litteraly fallen down every pair of stairs in every house I have lived in!!! I have a broken my tail bone adn to this day I can't sit in the position for any extended period of time because it hurts. ok and then picture this. I was in the bathroom with nothing but a towel around my big ol body I went to side step out of my husbands way so he could get something and I stepped into a little puddle of water from dripping after the shower and I went down into a full split.....lol imagine me at 270 lbs going into full splits......lol. I defiantely pulled some msucles and was sore and hard to walk for a few weeks.....lol my husband was concerned but I just laid on the floor laughing. it was either laugh or cry right??? I hope this makes you feel better...lol

I know what you mean too about falling. When I was pregnant with Maggie, I fell on ice and instintively reached back to catch myself. I shattered my wrist into a bunch of pieces. I had to have surgery to put it back together, with pins and rods and all. It still aches when the weather changes. Linda Vicory

Well thanks everyone for the nice responses. I'm doing better this morning than last night. Just hurting a bit and a little queasy maybe from the meds? Could be worse... at least no cast! Typing is a bit frustrating & you should've seen me trying to eat ribs last night! LOL. Thanks all, Kim
