Hi all! I'm following everything to a tee. I have to tell you I am getting so sick of eating the same boring blan foods. Cottage Cheese, Yogurt, applesauce, etc. I just can't stomach any of the baby foods. They totally gross me out! I can't beleive I have to eat this for another 3 weeks. Can't wait till week 5 when I can add fish, turkey, cheese, etc. Does anyone have any suggestions for something I might be able to add to Phase III (full liquids) diet that has *some* flavor? I'm afraid to use any seasonings, not really sure if that's OK, like garlic or cinnamon. BTW, I've already lost 13lbs in 8 days...woo-hoo! I'm feeling great. I take a lot of long walks and don't take any of the pain releiver prescribed....going tomorrow for a much needed pedicure & manicure....yippie...an outing! Hope everyone's doing well! Judy

My favorite at that stage was refried beans (watered down if too thick) with a sprinkle of shredded cheese and a teaspoon of the watery part of salsa mixed in. The texture of the pintos-n-cheese at Taco Bell is just right. Good luck! Annette

have to agree the taco bell beans were great and also the box of lipton noodle soup...now that was some of the best taste i had at that point..though i only drank the broth out of it....it was wonderful...LOL...another thing i did was add tuna to my cottage cheese

Hi Judy, I just got home yesterday but I have had V8 juice, tomato soup (I put a dab of pepper on it and I did fine) grape juice, gotta heal that stomach though..but it will be worth it in the end! It's the beneprotein that gets me ! Deb

thanks for the info. didn't think I could eat cheese at this stage. Does V8 count as a free liquid or is that supposed to be a meal? Each day I feel so much better & healthier. I love taking walks even if they're about 15-30 minutes. Those walks also seem to be helping with my other issues I had earlier this week and wrote about. Congrat's Deb...and I know what you mean about the protein. I've finally found a protein drink that I can stand. 2 scoops of my protein powder, 1-1/2 cup of skim milk & 1/2 cup of decaf. it's like a coffee milkshake. Sometimes I mix it up and use 2 cups of milk and vanilla, banana or strawberry extract for flavor. I drink 2 of those a day and get all my protein. I can't wait to be able to eat a few more food items that have protein in them like tuna (which is introduced in week 5 for me), turkey, cheese and a few other things. I'm no hungry at all. As an over eater the measure of fullness is different. I used to eat until I was stuffed and couldn't eat another bite. This diet & surgery is teaching me that I don't have to be in pain to be full. Know what I mean? I haven't weighed my self in a few days but I can tell I've lost some more lbs just puting on my bra...LOL! hugs, Judy

V8 is a free liquid. I'm going to try your protein shake this morning I can only have 4 oz. or 1/4th cup. So I really put in the protein powder! I will use the decaf as flavoring. It's weird how all these diets are so different!. I will start the pureed part on my 11th day after surgery which will be a week from today actually! Can't wait for that...refried beans/cheese...yummmmm. Soups with pureed meats added and only 3 protein shakes a day then! YES!!

We did really well with soup. I like the Campbell's Soup at Hand (Chicken and Stars). Put it in a blender and add an ounce or two of chicken breast and let it spin. It taste great and has plenty of protein because of the added chicken. I still eat it now but without the blender. Good Luck and keep up the good work.
