I have had a migraine since Tuesday. It started as sinus headache and then goes full blown migraine. I have been taking Tylenol to try and help but no relief. Yesterday I went to the Chiropractor and was feeling a bit better but then as the storms came through and lowered the temperature my head started pounding again. I need relief. I tried to take some of the liquid Lortab from surgery and ended up puking. I called and left a message for Dr. C's nurse to see if she can call something in for me but in the mean time I thought I'd check here and see what you guys take. I can't eat, can't sleep, I know I am going to get sick here soon if I don't get some relief. I haven't been to work in 3 days and I feel extremely guilty about that. I am walking around with Eric's gun headphones on to muffle the noise of the wind and furnace. Any ideas at all please? *No jumping..might die* Sam

Sam, You probably have the right idea, wrong doctor. Call your pcp/family doctor. When lquid loratab won't stay down, you probably need some pain meds via injection. If you get migraines very often, some people have scripts with the injectable meds to keep at home. In the meantime, try laying down in a darn, quiet room with a warm compress. Some people swear by cold ones, but for me, cold makes it worse. Mine always starts as a sinus headache too so I do a nice warm steamy shower before laying down. I've been fortunate and haven't had a migraine since my RNY. Before hand, I took 5-6 extra strength Tylenol at a time every 3 hours until it went away and stayed away. If I have vicodin w/codiene I took 2 of them instead. Since your tummy is upset though, it may take an injection for yours. I hope you get to feling better. Sherri

When I have a migraine lasting a couple days I usually end up going to the ER cause I can't take it anymore!! They give me a variety of meds they call a "migraine ****tail" via IV and it helps really fast. If it doesn't get better soon, please go to the ER. There is nothing worse than a migraine!!!! Hope you feel better soon!

I used to have migraines that put me in the ER too (years ago), I would loose my vision and be too sick to think about eating. I now know it's a hormonal thing because after my hysterectomy in 1990 I haven't had one since. Nothing but a sledge hammer to knock me out worked for my headaches, but now-a-days they have all kinds of Rx meds out there to help, and even some of the OTC ones too. Talk to your PCP, especially if you get them often. It wouldn't hurt to have meds around and be ready for the next one. Hope you're feeling better! Hope

I am feeling much better. I got a hold of Dr. C's nurse yesterday afternoon and she said to try Excedrin Migraine and if that didn't help by evening, then to go to the ER. She said there was caffeine in it which would help open my blood vessels. Me being the brilliant person I am, took the excedrin migraine WITH Diet Coke and then spent all evening dizzy and high on caffeine. Two doses of the Excedrin and now my head is just kind of achy but no where near migraine like. So I'm just taking it easy. Still planning on Tub and Tea unless I get sick again but I sure hope not!! Thanks for all the advice! (softly and slowly) Sam
