Hello all! Hope you are having a great day. I'm trying out an Atkins Advantage shake this morning. Trying to find one shake that's tolerable to me, and not having good luck with that effort. I have been getting in my protein with bars to supplement though. I wonder how long it will take, now that my protein intake is up, to stop the hair loss. I got some Nioxin shampoo, but it doesn't seem to be helping. Linda Vicory

Good morning everyone! Good morning Linda. Are you taking Biotin? I found that it helped me much more than Nioxin did. I think the nuts recommend 300 mcg/day. Since my RNY, I have had 4 additional surgeries (RNY revision, hernia repair, bunion on each foot) and have lost hair with each. I'm in the middle of losing now from the one in November. I take 1000 mcg biotin per day and the loss hasn't been so great with the last 3 surgeries since taking it. As to protein, I get my shakes from BariatricEating.com. I love the AchievOne mocha java (120 cal, 20 g protein) but have tried out some more recently. I like the Pure Protein banana flavor ones (160 cal, 35 g protein). I know many people like the profect, but for me, I can't handle the thought of drinking something slimy. That's enough to make me want to gag. The Pure Protein are in cans, not glass bottles like the AchievOne so the s&h on them are a little bit less. That, and taking them in the RV this summer were good incentives for me to try them out. Some people quit drinking protein drinks when they get further out. I will probably always drink them. I feel like crap when I don't and I see the pounds start to creep back on. Good Morning everyone, I started my new job as a secretary to an upper management lady last week and this week she is on vacation so I don't have much to do. It's going to be a great job because she has such a great personality.....not to mention she travels every week. They are breaking ground on our new sun room today, a couple weeks ahead of schedule. It won't be much longer and we'll have our hot tub back in use. My aching back is missing it, too. Brenda and I got to meet Dan and his wife this past weekend. A guy from California from the men's board was here this week, so we all got together for dinner on Sunday. It was nice to meet them. Sherri.....we're looking forward to your party on Saturday. It will be nice to see everyone again since we're not going to be in town for the clothing exchange. We just made doctors appointments for our one year follow-up. I can't believe how fast this year has gone. Time flies when you're having fun. Hope everyone has a great day! Hope to see some of you on Saturday. Floyd

oh a sun room sounds so nice.....dan and ann are the bombs....such caring people and they are certainly one of my bonus's from this surgery getting to know them.... We need more couples...i want to know who knows anything about shopping and cooking for 2...that eat like we do...and see ed needs to add calories and i do not...and he can eat double what i do at a meal...even though i am 2 1/2 years out and he is 15 months out..and he has been able to eat more than me for some time now too....last night i made beanie weanies...LMAO now before surgery no how no way... would i make that...but look at the protein we got...lmao...left over hot dogs from a cook out...lol....

i believe all those protein shakes suck...just have to find one you can tolerate..milk is one way to get it....I got some shampoo from sallys it came with a 3 step bottles...I am not sure anything works though.....

Happy Tuesday everyone! Man oh man is it nice outside! What a great day for a walk! Walking is unfortunatly getting mighty uncomfrtable for me. Feels like there is a bowling ball stuck between my legs and that if I move too much someone is certain to just plop out. Baby dr. appt went well yesterday. Had the fabulous strep B test and listened to the heartbeat. We talked about delivery options, and pain options. We're ... wait, "we", who am I kidding- *I* am going to try to no drugs route to start with. If it gets unbearable, then I think I'm going to go with whatever the IV drug was she talked about instead of the epidural. After Friday I'm not supposed to call until my contractions are 5 minutes apart (for now I'm supposed to call if I have 4 or more an hour) and I've been laboring a bit. Good thing the hospital is close! Sounds like baby time is getting close as well! Good thing. I worked hard to be able to see my feet again- and i miss them!

I'm so excited for you... I just took my baby to the doc this morning for her 4 month check up and I can't believe it has been so long already! Do you know what you are having and when are you due.

I'm having a girl, and I'm due.. oh, depends on which date you want to go by- they've given me literally 5. At the latest, ill be induced April 13th if she hasnt arrived on her own.

Hi all! What a beautiful day! got the furnace off and all the windows open! Loving the cross-breeze! It sure is nice to get the winter stagnant air out of the house!! Here comes Spring (for now)! Hope it stays this way for a bit, I'm trying to ignore the 'cold' they keep saying is coming this way. Enjoying the moment while it's here. I haven't found a protein I'm insanly crazy about, but I'm OK with the Unjury powders (unflavored and vanilla) I add them to yogurt, ice, and some fruit to make a smoothie in the blender. I'm gonna try the AchievOne for Bariatric Eating.com. Hope

Been down with a migraine today. BUMMER on such a beautiful day. I did feel a bit better this afternoon and went outside to help Eric with the fence. Not feeling to great now. I just got my AchievOne Vanilla Nut today. I wanted to try the Mocha Java but they didn't have any at bariatriceating.com I usually do Profect but decided to try the New Whey 42g vials in Orange. Not too yummy. Might have to mix it with some water. Will try the AchievOne Later. Still tossing around the idea of being a Passion Parties consultant. Think it would be fun but not too sure about the time involved. Well I better close up the windows and take some more headache medicine. Have a good night everyone!! Sam
