Vitamins- Calcium Citrate question

Gag!! I bought the Walmart brand of Calcium Citrate and chewed one. Gag! Is there a more flavorful kind out there that I am missing? I found Centrum Silver Chewables and I like the taste of them. Also- the Centrum silver has 25 mcg of Vitamin B12 in it. How much do we need a day? I saw the B12 sublinguals and bought them too. Should I keep them or return them? I have not been to a nutrition class yet- I am sure this will all be covered in my class, but I am just curious. I forgot to buy Biotin. Is there anything else I am missing for Vits/Mins?

I bought my calcium in a pill and broke it in half droped it in an ounce of water to see how long it took to melt.. It took 5 minutes.. I do that will any pill I take... so I dont have to chew anyof them!! Your body will not absorb the B-12 correctly... I always use the sublingual. Linda

Last I heard, St. Vincent's was recommending: 3 chewable Flintstones/day 3 Citrical creamy bites/day 1 B12 sublingual up to twice/week or b12 injections 1/month 1 B1 per week Dieticians also recommend people take Biotin (a B vitamin) to help with hair loss. I think they recommend something like 300 mcg dose. I take much more than that. This, I would start NOW so it can get in your system pre-op. Any 'pills' I take, I take in tablet form. Capsules don't dissolve in me and do nothing. If you are like many of us, I would also pick up a bottle of colace (stool softener). Sherri

You won't absorb the B12 from the vitamin. Still need sublinguals or the shots. I go for the shots, because it's just once monthly, and my insurance will pay for my B12 that way. I am not a big fan of taking pills/vitamins, and that makes one less thing I have to take. Linda Vicory

I use the Nascobal B12 Nasal Spray a once per week. I use the Citrical Creamy Bites three times per day. DO NOT take all of them at the same time. You can only absorb so much calcium at one time.
