i was also wondering if anyone has done the pre op testing on a saturday or the nut class and testing all in one day. i know it would make for a very long day but i am willing because it is so hard to get a day off work.
can anyone tell me about what the wait is to get a date, i am with dr daiz ?

I'm afraid I can't help with the scheduling. I did mine on two separate days. But best of luck.
Day of surgery: nothing by mouth that day - try for an early in the day surgery time so you don't have to go so long without even a drink of water. You will probably check into the hospital a couple of hours before the surgery time so hopefully the surgery won't be scheduled at the crack of dawn or else you have to be there at 0'dark thirty.
Significant others aren't usually allowed in recovery. But no worries, I don't even remember the recovery room, they took me back to my room before I was REALLY awake. So the first person I remember seeing is my DH. DH stayed with me all night the first night. Although I'm not sure I would recommend that. I rested much better without being asked if I was okay or needed anything every few minutes. He was sweet, but WAY over the top. I don't think they would mind if you brought your "Blankie." But remember, hospitals have blanket warmers and I have never been refused when I asked for a warm blanket. They are heaven.
Hope your waiting game goes quickly and doesn't go into overtime.
Let us know when you get your date and what hospital you will be in.

Well, at least your wait hasn't been TOO long. I remember when I sent my stuff in last year. I mailed it on Jan 10, and found out (by calling them) that I'd been approved on Feb 3rd.
My surgery was at 8AM I think, so I had to be at the hospital at 530 or 6, I can't remember. Personally, I liked it like that. Its not like I was sleeping well anyway.
I know hubby told me that when I came out of surgery they came out to the waiting room to let him know I was in recovery, and when they had me settled in a room they would come let him know where to find me. I don't remember recovery at all either. The first time I remember waking up, I remember it hurting a lot hubby had them get me some feel goods and back to sleep I went. I remember the first time they got me up to walk, I made it across the hallway and a few steps down from my room and had to go back to bed. BUT after that it was pretty well smooth sailing. I got another nap and then I felt great! In fact Deb Noel and another WLS friend of mine came to see me that evening and both couldn't believe how good of spirits I was in and how great I felt. I ended up walking 4.25 miles in my two day (well, wed evening to fri morning) stay. When I did have "pain" in the hospital, we figured out this was because I was nauseated. They'd give me a nausea pill, and pooof, in about 20 minutes Id feel fine. In fact, I never even took any of the liquid lortab they sent me home with- its still in my fridge i think. The best thign you can do for yourself is to walk walk walk. It really does make you feel better. Even when I would wake up at like 230 in the morning id pop my shoes on and go for a stroll. I think it helps with the liquid weight gain a lto of people have coming out of surgery too. I never gained any. I was down 4 pounds already the day I went home.
