Ann and I had the opportunity to spend about and hour with our dear friend Jennie on Friday afternoon. It was nice to see her looking so well and her spirits were high. Her testimony on how she handled this past 9 months since her surgery will fill my heart for ever. She and Tom's faith are so planted in the words of our Lord that they know He has been with her during this long period of time. Her prayer now is that she can get back home and to be able to eat a normal diet that is required of someone who just had WLS. She has been fed thru a feeding tube now for the past nine months and just now they are giving her some jell etc. to she how she handles it. I told her that I am posting updates after our visits and she was pleased with that and wanted to say hello to everyone here on the board. She is hoping also that she will be able to post herself soon. God willing that will not be very soon. I also told her I had posted Tom's Prayer and Praise request here on the board and both she and Tom said that was fine since Tom does not have the email address of everyone here on the board. So I will post updates from Tom as I receive them. So below is the latest email I received from Tom this morning. Dan Dear Friends and Family, We greet you again tonight during another winter storm from room 265, St. Vincent Carmel hospital; we have been getting a heavy mix of snow and sleet for over four hours, and it is supposed to continue throughout the night. My dear Jennie had an excellent day yesterday, however today has been a different story. She has vomited twice and had the dry heaves a couple of times also. Then she began chilling tonight and her temperature went up to 101.8. More than likely they will remove her PIC-line, which means she will have to get her injections in a muscle, instead of through the IV. So we may have to postpone going home until we get this straightened out. Jennie's visitors over the last few days have been Jerry & Debbie Hutchings, Dan & Ann Packard, and Bobby & Melissa Sands. Some of the members of the staff remark about how much better she looks than she did a few months ago, but it is still a snails pace recovery. Please join me in praying that her temperature returns to normal and she tolerates the medicine well. Thank you and may God richly bless all of you for the continual circle of love and comfort that we have received from so many of you over the past nine months. Blessings to you and yours, Tom & Jennie I urge you, brothers, by our Lord Jesus Christ and by the love of the Spirit, to join me in my struggle by praying to God for me. Romans 15:30
