Hello, Well, I survived the first week. The pain in my neck and shoulder is almost a memory and I sure hope I don't have to ever have laproscopic surgery again, wow, that hurt!! Not really hungry yet, but I've heard that starts later next week. I've found it hard to get in all of my protein, common problem I've heard. We just had a Vitamin Shoppe open in Greenwood and I stopped there today. They sell the Whey-Protein bullets that are talked about alot on the Lap-Band board. They have either 25 or 42 grams of protein and are only 3oz. I had a Blue Raspberry tonight and it was really pretty good! I got really tired of the chocolate/vanilla powdered shakes---yuk! I tried to choke one down yesterday and had to throw it out before I hurled. So, this protein bullet was tart and tasted good. I really needed something that wasn't too sweet. So, I'm glad I stopped there. The bad thing is that they are 3.00 each. But with the band, the goal is to get you eating your protein in food after about 5 weeks so, I won't have to buy them that long, hopefully. I've been surviving on scrambled eggs, yogurt, cottage cheese, creamed soups and refried beans. I've added a little melted Velvetta to the eggs and beans to give them a little more flavor. Next weekend I can start adding seafood, I have the scallops in my freezer ready to go. I do love fish and seafood. I hope I can tolerate it. I'm kind of bored now. I swept and mopped my foyer on Wednesday and cleaned my bathroom and kitchen yesterday, boring huh? I think I may go to the 'Y' tomorrow. If anyone wants to go to the Baxter Y on the south side, PM me and we'll hook up. I want to start getting a walking routine down, I may swim a little, and the hot tub is a definite!!!!! My back muscles are realxing at just the thought of it ;) Later, Tania

Hi Tania, Contrats on your surgery. You seem to have everything under control. I have to tell you thought that I am a former Hoosier and now live in PA. The requirements I have on my diet are 75 g's of protein daily. This is nothing to shake a stick at. Where did you have your surgery? Do you have a support group? I use Nitrotech shakes. I can caily gives me 45 g's of protein and it's taste really good. I get it from A1supplements of GNC which ever is cheaer at the time. Good luck and containued success. Liz

Glad to see you're doing great! I LOVED refried beans post op, and I still do! I also used the cream soup as "gravy" for those instant mashed potatoes, which were also good friends. It was a long time before cottage cheese didn't spoiled to me, but now I love it! I have lap band envy!
