Last night Brenda and I attended the support group meeting at Clarian. It was the first meeting we've been to since we moved to Indiana. It was a great meeting and we thoroughly enjoyed it. It was good to see Scott again. The nutrionist was telling us how it was necessary for B12 shots. This was surprising to us since we're 10 months out and have never had B12 supplements. We had blood work done in December and our doctor said everything looked fine. I'd love to hear what you guys think about your B12 experiences. Tonight we're going to the cooking class. Brenda has really been looking forward to it. Only one more week of this job and then I start my new one. I haven't been on here much to tell you guys about it. I was offered a secretarial position for an upper management woman. It sounds like a great job and I'm really excited about it. I will be sitting just 3 rows away from Brenda too so I'll get to see her more. My boss travels 3-4 days a week so I'll have lots more time to post again. Hope everyone has a great day. Floyd

Floyd I was just thinking of you this week!! I wondered where you had been! I hope the job move is an increase for you!! Funny thing I started my new job this week and have been just dead by the end of the day. Well I realized this AM I haven't taken my B12 pills in like 2 weeks. I am going to take some tomorrow and see if I can't tell a difference. What funny timing!! Tell Brenda Hi and I have been enjoying the Carnation Instant Breakfast she gave me every morning! Sam

Sam, I've been so busy at work lately getting W2s corrected and sent out to the Army Reserves. Don't you hate when work gets in the way of having fun...lol My new job isn't an increase, but it's the type of job I wanted to get back into. Best part is that I didn't even apply for it. I'll definately have more time to post when I get settled in the job. Have a great weekend. Floyd

Floyd, Many of us were told to do B12 sublinguals once or twice a week. B12 effects your energy level. Some people do not asorb the sublinguals very well and need to go on B12 injections (1/month)...others just prefer the injections so that they KNOW they are getting the proper amount of B12. Other supplements many of us were told to do is: 3 Flintstone (or comparable) vitamines/day 3 citrical/day 1 B1/week Biotin daily Are you & Brenda seeing a surgeon here to take over your follow-up care? As the surgeons learn more and share experiences, the vitamins has changed a little bit so it's good to stay in contact with a surgeon &/or nut so you can get updates as they come out. Sherri

Sherri, Thanks for the information. We're going to get some B12 sublinguals and try it that way since we don't have a doctor here yet. We'll have our one year follow-up with our surgeon in Ohio in April, but we don't want to wait that long to get started. Floyd

I have done the B-12 injections from the beginning. I can tell when it's time for them. I feel much more energetic after the shot. Annette

Hey Floyd I was wondering what you have been up to. I asked about you when I saw Brenda at the shower and she reported that you have been very busy selling your old house. Did the sale get done? Congrats to the new job! My Dr. told me that b12 was one of the vitamins that you can have as much as you want and if you don't use it you just pee it out. So I take a sub b12 each day. I have sooo much energy! I can only say that is what my Dr. said and maybe others would disagree, but I would rather too much than too little! Have fun at the cooking class, I am going to try and catch the next one they sound great! Feel well, Carmen ps tell Brenda I made the chicken and the whole family loves it!!

Hi Carmen, Sale of the house was done last Thursday. It was a good trip to Ohio, for sure. Looking forward to getting more energy. The cooking class was absolutely wonderful. It was fondue class last night. Oh, so good. I can't wait for the next one. Have a good weekend. Floyd

Hey Floyd, good to see you posting! I wondered where you had been !! I havent ever been to a support meeting, can you believe that? I think its because I live in Danville, and Clarian is quite the drive for me alone at night. I just kinda get my support form friends here who have had the surgery, and this site mainly. I would love to go to at least one though. I might go and take a friend next time. Congrats on the new job. Im retired, but toying with the idea of finding something part time this spring, just to get out among people. I just hate the thought of missing my morning coffee on the patio,,and leaving my little dog home alone. Isnt that pathetic??!!Plus, Im looking forward to working in the yard this year,,BECAUSE I CAN NOW!!!! Well, Ide best getoff hre, its bedtime, just wanted to say "hi" to ya! have a great day! Blessings Betsy
