new protein supplement

ok i have just found out about a new protein supplement and I spoke to the nurse at dr diaz office and she said it would be ok to use especially for the first week or so until the stitch line starts to heal. it is call new whey liquid protein vials. I found it at musclesurf.com at a greatly reduced price. heres the info on it each vial is 2.9 ounces has no fat, no sugar, 100 calories heres the biggie each serving has 42 grams of protein. it comes in grape, orange or fruit punch flavors. you get 12 vials in a box for $29.00 I know its alot but the nurse said I could use 1 of those each day and already have over 1/2 of my protein in. I was a little worried about getting in enough protein without hurting the stitch line so I was really happy nurse said ok. so my dad bought me two boxes for an early birthday gift. does anyone know of something else that would work as well that might be cheaper please let me know. I only plan to use this for the first few weeks so the stitch line has time to heal and I can still get the needed amounts of protein. thanks, Kathy

I am 7 months out and use the new whey protein I don't LIKE it but I use it I actually dilute it with water otherwise it is too strong and thick. I know if you look around sometimes you can find them a little *****eaper. I only use 1 day so if you really look at it that's not too much because you are saving a ton on food. Tina

Is it profect. I use that all the time, quite a few on here do. I don't really like the taste of any of them but 3 oz goes down quick.

No it's not the Profect I tried it too I use the New Whey that has 42 grams of protein. I am not much of a meat eater and wasn't getting quite enough protein with just the 25 Grams from the Profect so I went to the New Whey. Tina 271/175/160

I have been using Profect and just started using the New-Whey. Profect has 25 g. and 100 calories where New-Whey has 42 g and 176 calories. New Whey is very similar to the Profect, just a little thicker. I actually like the flavors better of the New-Whey than the Profect. I have to chase them both with sips of water after ever drink, and they are tollerable. Ken from this site is who told me about the New Whey. He said that the Vitamin Shoppe in Greenwood has them. 42g in 3 oz seems like a lot. I would think that would be hard on the kidney's. One of the dieticians at St. V's told me to not use the profect all the time because 25g in 3 oz. can be too hard on them also.
