back from pre-ops
HI everyone, I just spent the last 2 days in Indy going through my nutritional class, and all my pre-ops are done now. Why didnt someone warn about the barium
YUCK.they gave us our sippy cup and baby spoons and I will go out tomorrow to pick stuff up for the full liquid diet for when I get back. Now I just have to wait. Only 10 more days. Oh and I lost 5 pounds from when they weighed me over 2 weeks ago. I am so anxious.

They just want to make sure you're in good shape, and be aware of anythings they should be watching out for. For example, my testing showed my gall bladder was full of stones, so Dr. Inman just took it out at the same time as surgery, to prevent me from having to have a 2nd surgery later.

Don't panic if they say you have gallstones. I had them too, but when Dr Clark went in to do my wls he said that my gallbladder wasn't iritated so he left it in place and just gave me a pill to take for the first 6 months after surgery to prevent new ones from forming. I'm 10 months out and so far so good, no problems with my gallbladder.
Good luck with your surgery and recovery. You'll be a loser soon!

I didnt want to do the barium so I had put off my surgery... (had barium before) so when I had to have a scope for another reason I asked my Dr to "look good and write a good report because I am having my stomach cut off now" Dr McCune looked good and wrote a report Dr C accepted so I didnt have to have it... Drinking the stuff that shows if you have the bug in your stmach was nasty but only a couple ounces...
I had a little problem 4 months ago the Dr ordered a test,, no barium but a glass of crystal light with the dye in it.. better than barium..
YOU Have made it thru the hard part... pre op testing sucks!! But with your itty bitty tummy you wont be getting hungry for a while...
