Hope you all got your milk & bread....gas and snow shovels! Why do people wait for a snow storm to hit to get these?? And just what exactly are they putting on the bread? You don't hear about the bologna supply being wiped out. And the folks buying the snow shovels today...hmmm..what did they use one week ago??? Just a few mid-west hmmmmmsssss..... You all be very careful tonight & tomorrow! I am seriously thinking about not even trying to go into work in the morning. The latest weather forecast has it at 1/4-1/2" ice followed by 2-4" snow before midnight and 8-12" after midnight!!! That means 10-16" of snow total!!! Time to cosy up with Bill I think! Sherri BTW...bought the regular amount of milk yesterday when I got my regular groceries. Bought gas (and got a car wash!) on Saturday just because I needed it. And our snow shovel isn't disposable so we'll use the same one we've had for a few years now... ain't it?

I know what ya mean!! My son in law has called me off and on all day with the updates on the weather,,three times told me to go get milk, and it was on sale, tomake sure I have batteried in my flashlight incase the lights go out. He is so funny...he LOVES snow!!! Fortunately, we have a snow blower, and a snow shovel, and salt for the walk, lots of milk and salad fixins. and a freezer full of protein, So, Im set! I dont have to leave the house at all, but hubby has to go from Danville to Keystone and 38th to work, and he has to be there at 7 to open the shop, so got a feeling he will go to bed early tonight, If there is no snow emergencey given. According to the DOT out here in Hendricks county, they are expectiing one due to the 35 mph winds that are coming along with the snow and ice . We shall see.... Meanwhile, stay warm and safe!! I know I was telling a lady at work today (BTW she is a little older than I am) that when we were kids we were snowed in for days on end several times a year and we didn't have to run to the store to get bread and milk. What was wrong with making your own biscuits!!!!! And also we had our own supply of powdered mlk in case we ran out of the regular cow kind. She said " I think I could be snowed in for a couple of days and still not have to go to the store except for cat food because she has 3 felines and she said they would drive her crazy with the meowing because they didn't like what she was feeding them!!! People are just nuts. And you know there are some out there that will just HAVE to go someplace and then call a police agency to find out how the roads are, not realizing the police dispatchers are busy talking to policemen/women that are helping someone else that just had to go someplace and then got into trouble sliding off the road or running out of gas or breaking down while the person answering the phone is sitting behind a desk inside. Either don't go or take your chances!!!!

I think they're buying up all the milk/bread/eggs so they can have French Toast for days... I'm totally shocked! My employer closed today!!!! They haven't done that for snow/ice in over 10 years.... I'm doing the happy, happy, snow-dance now.... If you have to go out in this mess, stay safe! Bren

You just crack me up with your Bologna and snow shovel remarks! My boss was prety good about letting us work from home. Did your shift end up getting cancelled for Wednesday? It's still ugly out there. Be careful! Ken

Ken, I work 8 hr days..and nope, no cancellations here. Although...I did bring home a 4" binder of stuff that I need to read so I'm working from home today. I have a pretty good boss that doesn't mind that at all. I called him to let him know that I decided to go ahead and stay home with it....and got his voicemail. He's usually there by 7:30 so either he was running late or decided it might would be a good idea to be one less vehicle on the road too. Be careful if you venture out! Sherri

You are lucky to have a boss like that! I always heard that you were a really good tech. I loved working in Raws with Tami and Dennis, but hated BPM Intermediates. I did like GC's. I started my new job the other day. It's going good.

Trust me, I did NOT have a boss like that when I was in Clinton! The stories I could tell you about there!! Needless to say, I am SO happy to be away from there! I liked the work fine..it didn't really matter where I was and I think I worked all of the areas at one time or another..lol. It kept you busy and I was able to learn new things by being versatile in all the area's. I got where I knew GC's & LC's pretty good and that has served me well up here with me working with FPLC's. It was the politics! Who the heck needs THAT stress??? It's just a total different world there than here. Part of it's the department I'm in I think (tech service for Humalog) but most of it is just the difference between anywhere and Clinton Labs. I have had a few of the ones who screwed me while I was in Clinton try to be all sweetie to me since I've been up here. As if! I walk right past them like I didn't even notice they were there and definately do not respond to their 'Well hello Sherri!'. I've been in Indy a little over 7 years and that hasn't nearly been long enough to forget the almost 11 years of crap I put up with there! I hope your experience there wasn't as bad as mine....I hope nobody's is/was. It was a character builder..how's that? Evidence of that? I didn't slug anyone & get fired. LOL! I gotta leave this on a positive note, even if we are talking about Clinton! Sherri ps...My boss now is Brian Potts and he's the tops!! If you ever have an opportunity to work for him, DO. He's great!
