Well first Thanks to all of you for the great advice! I did check in several times yesterday and used all the great tips! I feel so lucky to have such a great place to get so much help, ideas and support!! You all rock!!! So I had a tough time just letting it go, but I let the school deal with the skipping, and moved on! I am proud of myself for being able to do that, because I am from Dan's point of view! Total respect and compliance at all times is what I want from my kids! But like you all pointed out to me he will be an adult soon and needs to have a little independence! At least he didn't just drive off anyway! Thank God, because I would have killed him LOL. So I went and woke him up (sorry Sam) and made him come talk with me. I told him that I was disappointed in his choice not to go to school and that I would have wanted him to make a different decision. I also just had to point out that in my opinion he was acting very juvenile and not like an adult. When we are older it makes no difference how we get somewhere just that we get there! He had a small attitude with me, but I chose to ignore it! He was put to work and did a ton of wonderful housework with me! I was happy for the company and I think it made him feel close with me! That was nice! Then he went outside and shoveled everything! Walkways, driveways and all, Even two of the neighbors got their's done, they can thank Sherri for that idea! So I guess I did at least get some great slave labor from the entire headache! But the best part happened this morning! As he backed out of the driveway, he ran over the garbage can and had to get out and clean them all up! I laughed so hard I about peed my pants! I asked him if that was embarrassing and he just gave me a dirty look! Thanks for the advice, Carmen

Dear Carmen, It sounds like to me you did the right thing. I was at the hospital yesterday for my pre-op testing and didn't see your post until it was too late to respond, but you certainly had lots of very fine advice. I hope he learned from this experience. My pre-op testing went fine and I've been cleared for take off! Woo hoo! 12 Days! Donna

I'm glad your day turned out fine. I have always enjoued working along side my kids. It brings a closeness that you don't get any other way. The garbage can is priceless! I love poetic justice. Annette

Carmen Great job on handling this situation. I am sure he got the message whether he wants to admit it or not. The garbage can incident is priceless. I almost peed my pants reading about it. Dan

Hey I thought you would be to busy out pole dancing to read the boards!!!! If at least half of my kids don't think I am mean then I am not doing my job! That is my daily quota, no rest until at least 4 sets of feet stomp off followed by doors slamming!!!

I can always find time to give u a hard time. Even if I have to climb down from my pole. Im gonna get a pole installed for Andys birthday...LOL Ohhh btw he just called, hes in Indiana now. He spent the night last night in Oklahoma City and hes been driving all day. So far no car problems which was a godsend. Hes hoping to be home by 8pm. I guess he can get home from Evansville to Richmond in a few hrs...lets hope so and for those of u who dont really know me...the pole being installed is only a joke!!!

Hey girl I have an update for you. I was getting ready to go to my support group tonight and I tried on my size 20 pants we got a few weekends ago at Cj Banks. Well they fit. The night we got them they wouldnt even zip up all the way. Im so excited since I was wanting to get dressed up tonight. I have my meeting then right after Andy will be home and we are going out to dinner to celebrate his being back from LA for good. Now I'll need all your prayers that we dont kill each other getting readjusted to living together all the time again....LOL. I got used to all that freedom and doing what I wanted when I wanted. At least now I will have someone to get out of the house with and not spend so much time online. I can do that at work. Pamela

That is so great!!! I bet you looked so good! I wish I was with you two! I can't wait until you move and we can all go out to dinner as a group! What did Andy think about your sexy new pants? Or was he too tired from his long drive to notice? I saw that I missed your call, so try again when you can! I want to know about our spa day!!! You won't kill him, but hopefully you will soon want to do something else to him!!! Blessings, Carmen
